Invisible compass

Hi everyone

 

I have a problem after i updated my skyrim to 1.6 my compass is permenantly hidden and i dont know why, i tried re-installing the game also setting compass to 1 in .ini and nothing helps it stays hidden all times even checked in options for hud visibility and it's at max i can see health and all other stuff just not compass :/

 

If you have any ideas how to fix it pls let me know, ty.

Ran into this myself. I had iHUD installed, so I uninstalled/reinstalled/uninstalled it again, thinking it might be the issue. No joy.

So I uninstalled iHUD and set this line in SkyrimPrefs.ini:

[interface]

bShowCompass=1 (it had been set to =0)

 

But that didn't fix it for me either. So I deleted my iHUD completely and re-downloaded/re-installed it from here on the Nexus: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3222

 

Leaving bShowCompass=1 in place, I used NMM to set the option to always show compass (same as it had been before it broke) and installed it again. THEN it started working for me.

 

Not sure why that fixed it, or for that matter, why it broke to begin with. My iHUD was up to date and had been working - so it's not like I replaced it with a different version. I can't even say it was directly related to the 1.6 patch, but the timing is about right for when mine disappeared.

 

I'm also sure some of my steps were useless and/or redundant. But I don't know which ones because I wasn't trying to chase down a professional troubleshooting issue in a test environment :) I just wanted it fixed and now (for me anyway) it is.

Thank you so much, worked like a charm ^^ i'm guessing it was the 1.6.3 version of iHUD problem, thanks again i got my compass back now ^^
