PCGirl
I get as far as confronting Mercer in ruins as he removes the eyes of falmer, and then nothing - no dialogue, can't move or leave the area - everything is stuck at this point. Any help on this issue?? I have had more problems with this latest Skyrim update than ever before.
kevkiev
From one of the skyrim wiki's Where you enter the room with the statue where Mercer is, you may freeze and the game does nothing after Mercer says "Karliah, When will you ever learn you cannot get a drop on me?". PC: Use the console command setstage TG08B 40 to fix this. PC: You can also use command prid 00022651 and then moveto player to move Mercer to your position and fall down of the ledge, then he will automatically go back to his supposed position on top of the statue and then continue to cast a spell making the ledge crumbles and speaks to you. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Blindsighted Both fixes contemplate the first line of dialogue being spoken, but probably worth a shot (I'd imagine the setstage would fix it no matter what)- especially the 2nd one to possibly avoid setstage and skip over the (rather cool) remainder of the quest. PCGirl
Thanks for the tip. I will try that on my play through. However, I have noticed that the Thieves Guild quest line is riddled with problems. I started a new game and did nothing but the Thieves Guild quests, and I had to keep reloading the game to progress to the next step once Karliah comes onto the scene. I did notice one interesting thing, that if the quest items are not removed from your inventory then it will definitely stick and some of the dialogue is missing, which also makes things freeze. Not sure what the fix is for this major problem, but at least now I know what seems to be the problem......
