grasida
Hi, so I'm playing through Fallout 3 and am current going through Mothership Zeta. I have recently installed several mods to my game. They are: the unofficial patch, the melee lock on mod (which also requires FOSE and FOMM) and a very small modification I made myself that changes some properties of Jingwei's Shocksword. I slightly increased the speed of its attack animation and decreased its AP cost by one in VATS in order to make it more competitive with the shishkebab and more in-line with how a jian should actually be used. After installing these modifications, I've noticed that with all of my weapons, I attack incredibly slowly. I rarely "combo" in melee, but rather just attack once and return to a guard position. With guns, sometimes I can get off several shots in a row, but usually I can only shoot once in about every ten seconds. The animations are a perfectly normal speed, but it's like the game is ignoring mouse input for the purpose of attacking. I am having a similar problem in VATS. I'll click on a target multiple times, but the game simply won't register my input. VATS only seems to accept my mouse input when it feels like it. In all other situations I have no trouble with the mouse. This would make the game completely unplayable except that I am running a VATS character with ten agility, Action Girl and Grim Reaper's Sprint and the Atomic Pulverizer. I can only fight in VATS, which though quite annoying because the game won't register 90% of my mouse clicks, makes my character basically invincible. Does anyone know what's causing this? Thanks for your help! Edit: Okay, so I've narrowed it down to a problem with the Melee Lockon mod or, more likely, FOSE. Uninstalling Melee Lockon and not starting from FOSE fixed the problem. I can live without Melee Lockon, even though it would be nice because I hate managing the camera in games, but has anyone had this problem before and know how to make FOSE work properly? I'm especially interested because in any future playthrough I'd like to try FWE, which, apparently, requires it.
