Lerne
Not exactly sure what's wrong with my game, as it takes a long while for the loading screen to take me into the bunker. And even when it's already loaded, the screen is gray. As expected, a crash should occur. But no, I try waiting it out to see what would happen and it eventually loads. It goes from a gray screen to slowly loading everything else. However what I find strange is that there's no frame issues, there's no stuttering. Everything is the way it should be when you enter the bunker. And just to say, I'm using a fairly heavy mod build which I've always used in the past and I have never come across this issue in the past. In fact, I actually completely reinstalled everything, just to clean up mods that I didn't need, merge mods that needed it, etc. My game overall runs better than it did before, and this is the only issue I've come across so far. that up is what I have activated, and this is my order For stutter remover, I have the settings I always had for Windows 10; those can be found in the comment section for that mod and so far they've never failed me. I as well share the same ENB settings as the dude who posted that, which haven't failed me in the past. So I'm sure it's neither of these. I'm currently just using the ENB Series to boost my fps. My computer isn't being pushed to its limits with this load order, it runs fine. It's just this area that I'm having issues so far. I have the 4GB Patcher on as well. My Specs are 6 GB Ram, NVDIA GeForce GTX 460M, Intel® Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30 GHz, and I'm running Fallout on a laptop. [Edit] Just found out that it was the Training Dummy Retexture from https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/65017, now I want to know why a small texture like this is causing me this issue? dubiousintent
The size of your image files has a cumulative impact. Larger/higher resolution is not always "better". Please see the wiki "Display resolution versus Image Size" article.Re: Stuttering or "micro-stutters". All visual stuttering problems are caused by the video stream having to wait for the "art assets" required to render the display OR the game writing something to disk (such as a save game file or logging). Mostly these are due to the hard disk drive being orders of magnitude slower than VRAM, with System RAM (e.g. "ENBoost") and "solid state drives" (SSDs) being in between. Keep in mind that this game was designed for older PC and XBox console systems, and it is now possible for your new "latest and greatest" gaming machine to be faster than it can handle. There are internal design choices that cannot be overcome. The "video pipeline" has always been prone to "memory leaks" and problems. The following are "mitigations" that have been found to help some people. Please see the following entries under the 'Solutions to Performance problems' section in the wiki Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide if you haven't already.* 'Issue: "Full screen mode" exhibits CTDs and stutters or micro-stutters'* 'Issue: Lag or "micro stutters" even with "New Vegas Stutter Remover" installed'* 'Issue: Win10 Screen tearing in "Borderless Windowed Mode"'* 'Issue: CTD without warning, "Out of Memory error", or stops responding after the Main Menu' for other settings that can indirectly affect micro-stutter.* There are also some NVSR configuration suggestions under the 'Issue: Game in slow motion' and entries.* The 'Issue: What's with these Solid Green billboard signs in the distance (LOD)?' entry under the 'Solutions to Mesh (Red "!" icon) or Texture (solid color) problems' section can also help if your problems started after you installed VWD/LOD texture packages.* If you are using CASM or some similar "auto-save" mod to manage your save game files (recommended), try increasing the "time between saves" set in the "save frequency"; and reducing the number of occasions it saves to the minimum (e.g. disable most "Autosave Events" in CASM) and see how that impacts the game seeming to freeze temporarily.* If you have "NVSE logging" enabled (see the 'Checklist Item #4' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide), disable it until actually needed.Reading from or writing to disk for any reason is the slowest thing the game does.* If you are suddenly having a "slowdown" or lag; or a lack of sound; or problems getting NVSE to load, or really anything new unexpectedly, please see the 'Issue: NVSE - fails to load after update KB4058043 to Win10 FCU (v1709)' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. This may be due to an on-going series of Windows Updates for the "Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities".* Related to the NVSR problem, for problems AFTER a save game is loaded see also "Issue: Incomplete save game load" in the "Troubleshooting" guide. * Finally, when was the last time you defragged your disk drive?-Dubious-
Lerne
Well the thing is Dubious, I've found out that what caused me problems was the Dummy Retexture mod that I had on my modlist. I decided to actually go ahead, and deactivate every mod in a separate profile. Eventually, I came across that one. Which deactivating it actually made it possible for my game to run normal again. So my only current issue is why that one texture mod is causing this problem for me.
Deleted1205226User
I'm curious to know which texture version you used. One version is ridiculously large and heavy (on top of not being of a power of two).If you have a lot of High res textures, this one might be the drop of water that make the vase overflow... Lerne
Huh, I assumed that it being 6000 x 6000 was just a joke; which means that not being in the power of two made my game crash?
Deleted1205226User
I didn't check the file myself but if it is 6k, very likely.
Lerne
Ah I see, so I guess I just have to try out the other file then.
