McBurd
I was playing FO4, as per the usual, when I noticed a modded weapon was invisible in game. No problem, I thought, and closed the game with the intention of disabling and re-enabling the mod in NMM. However, the mod manager refused to open. No dialogue, nothing, wouldn't even show up in the processes in the task manager. I go on the nexus site and find that they've got this new "Vortex" thing. OK, no problem, I'll just install that and put my mods in whatever weird new thing they've got. Problem is, when I opened the "Mods" folder where NMM stores the Zip files, I found that just about every mod had vanished, save for 8 or 9 mods. The game directory, however, still has all the esp files. I don't know what on earth happened, but its rather infuriating, as this happened without me having changed anything, and I suspect this weird new program of theirs is behind it. Any help would be appreciated.
bbiller
No Vortex is not the cause. As for the NMM versions, if you haven't heard, NMM is now being worked on exclusively at Github, so check for an update there. Right now Vortex is at a 50/50 state, with some of us using it, while others are sticking with NMM or MO (Mod Organizer). Vortex is what the Nexus uses and is still developing now and it has got a number of features on solid ground now. As to your files, grab an undelete program, check your recycle bin, and see if your AV or Anti-Malware program might have done something. There are a number of free undelete/file recovery programs, just don't write anything to the drive where your mod files were. If you have, recovery will be impossible for some of those. Any you can't get back, re-download from Nexus.
