Well, I think I'll give up for today. This is about how far I got.

 

Mind you, the texture will probably suck, because I'm bad at that part. But hopefully you can find someone to re-texture it, after the mesh is done.

 

Edit: also, I'm SO porting it to Skyrim when it's done :P

Looks awesome, Except I think it might be about an inch or two too long? maybe im picky, but there seems a fine line between 'Oversized badass pistol' and 'undersized rifle'

 

(Don't mind me though, im not OP, just someone who has seen the series)

Hmm... doing the maths, it is about an inch longer ATM than those stated 390mm. Good catch.

 

Oh well, back to the drawing board :P

 

Edit: though, for lulz, that's not the biggest screw-up while making this. I first spent a day making half a 26mm pistol, before it dawned upon me "duh, dude, you used the 13mm as a radius. It's diameter." :P

lol, sorry to cause you more work, its just the pistol is looking awesome, Would be sad if it was not as perfect as you could get it and it really looks like you can get it perfect!

 

Btw, the long barrel of a pistol like that would actualy give it faster bullet speed since the gases have more time/distance to speed up the bullet. (Given the same peak pressure, anyway), So it actualy should have damage inbetween that of a rifle and pistol. Im guessing 8 or 9 STR requirement, Reasonabley slow firing as to not snap your wrist clean off, Unless you are a vampire/superhuman race. (Two versions of the esp? one for superhumans that has a much faster semi auto fire rate and higher animation speed multiplier?).

 

As for accuracy, I always like my pistols VERY accurate. It gives me a good reason to use them over SMG's at medium to short range (Ammo conservation at short range with a single aimed shot to the head). I think dispite the huge round, being so long and heavy would give it good accuracy if you take your time inbetween shots (or are superhuman strong). If anything it should be deadly accurate and only have a slight 'sway' that makes it inaccurate due to its weight. (That means low 'minspread' (High gun accuracy, minspread makes bullets fire out of the gun at a random angle) with a medium 'spread' (causes gun to sway in your hand, Can compensate for in iron sights mode if you are really good)

So far I'm thinking more like 50% more damage than the 44 magnum revolver -- not only is the round more powerful, but it doesn't have a cylinder gap for the gas to escape -- and 0 min spread like the sniper rifle or laser weapons, BUT needs 10 Str and 100 skill for the full accuracy and effect :P

 

In practice, considering that you can drop the Str requirement by 2 with a perk, and you can get 1 point from an implant, 1 point from a perk, and 2 points from power armour, pretty much that means with a little planning even a base of 4 str is enough. Which is not all that bad.

 

Also, very loud firing, very loud hypersonic round, and a huge muzzle flash. This ain't no stealth weapon. Currently the modded muzzle flash is about as long as the gun itself :P

 

Other than that, shortening it was not that much problem, and I was still tweaking the slide anyway.

 

In fact, the gun is pretty much finished now, albeit without some of the details that weren't that visible anyway, like extra screws or the bracing in front of the trigger guard. I think I'll have mercy on the graphics card and skip those anyway. What still needs to be done is:

 

- make a different hammer, since it seems that my attempt at mixing and matching animations to go with that one crashes the game when I drop the weapon :/

 

- fix the texture shade. I seem to have ended up with a slide that's slightly a different hue from the rest of the gun.

 

- well, the whole linking it to CASE thing. It currently shoots .44 magnum for test purposes

 

- put it somewhere in the game. Mick and Ralph's, maybe?

 

- take screenshots :P

Very nice. As far as getting it into the game, I also have a mod called LLO thats currently on the CASE page, it specialises in adding weapons to vendors/NPC's in a multi mod compatible way via using modfusion mergers.

 

It also rewrites the leveled lists to be understandable! If you have any intrest.. Im sure the khan would love such a weapon... And maybe the gun runners could sell it.
