wulfharth
http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r602/ashkingwulfharth/dragonbonearrows.jpg I made these dragonbone arrows, and I'm trying to import them into the game, but it's not working. I've imported several other weapons. Does anyone know of a good tutorial to help me with this?

wulfharth
Thank you, but I'm good on crafting recipes. I've imported several weapons into skyrim already. http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r602/ashkingwulfharth/dragonboneweaponssofar4.jpg I just need to know what you do differently with arrows and quivers in nifskope to get them to import properly. There are plenty of custom arrows in mods now, so someone's gotta know this.
Perraine
Well, firstly "importing into the game" and "importing into Nifskope" are 2 totally different things! The best advice I could give is to open your mesh and a vanilla Skyrim mesh side by side and compare the 2, also in the CK when you create the ammo item, does it show up as a valid mesh in the render window? or do you get a big red exclamation mark?If all else fails you could try pasting just the NiTriShape from your mesh into the .nif of a vanilla quiver and see what happens, don't forget too, that arrows need an "in flight" projectile mesh as well as the quiver mesh... wulfharth
I'm sorry. I've got them into nifskope, and I got them into the game, but they are invisible. There isn't an exclamation point in the CK it just shows the blank ground. In the game, I can forge them, equip them, and shoot them, but I'm just shooting invisible arrows. Perraine
Well, that's a bit weird ... I'd normally say there must be something missing in the .nif file if they aren't showing at all in the CK, so maybe try selecting a vanilla mesh to start with and save your mod, then open up Skyrim see if it's a problem with your .esp, if that works then the problem is obviously with your model/mesh itself, so then comes the fun part of figuring out what's missing ... wulfharth
Well, I messed around with trying to import the quiver with stock arrows, trying to change the order of the ni-nodes in nifskope etc... Then I got back into max and imported a vanilla quiver, and hit unhide all and realized there's a bone. I have a good tutorial on importing skinned bows, so I'm going to try adding a skin modifier to all the different meshes and re-importing them. I guess I missed it because the imported vanilla quivers don't have a skin modifier on them like the bows do. Dang it.
wulfharth
For some reason I still can't get this to work. There's nothing wrong with my mesh, it's something I can't figure out when exporting or setting it up in Nifskope. I give up. Apparently I'm not smart enough to make any complicated custom meshes. Thanks for all your help anyway.
