Stargazer09
I'm currently in Primm & I have a ridiculous amount of gear from the escape convicts. I need to head to the NCRCF to look for a sheriff and finish My Kind of Town, and I want to wait until after that to sell all this stuff to Nash. The problem is, I need to offload before making the trip, and I need some place that will be safe and still have my items AFTER I return. Any ideas are very, very welcome. Thanks!
dubiousintent
"Safes" remain empty after being looted for the rest of the game, giving the appearance to be safe storage containers for personal loot. Meaning they don't "respawn" which is what makes a container "unsafe" for personal items. (Assume any container respawns unless you KNOW differently. Only those in an "unowned" building are potentially safe. If it has any items with the "stealing" warning, it's owned. An entire cell, such as a "store" interior, can be "owned" and treated as a "container".) Note there is a known bug if you store too many items within a safe and try to "Take All" items, there can be issues with the game freezing. Take smaller lots instead. There are multiple safes in the cashier's cage of the "Vicki and Vance Casino". Note the changes in occupants after different stages of progression. CAUTION: I've never tried to use such safes for this purpose. This information is from "The Vault" wiki pages. The Nash residence has a "Mojave Express dropbox". Note you have to have activated another "destination" dropbox (e.g. the one in Goodsprings) to use it, but items in the destination box are safe until you pick them up. This is what I used until I decided "to heck with this running back and forth" and added the "Virtual Storage System" mod. (There are other alternatives.) Edit: There is also the recent mod "Cache Pack", which is "a backpack that works as a deployable inventory. [...] True to its name, Cache Packs can also be dropped off and left elsewhere for later use." (Interior cells don't generally "reset". Exteriors will after the "respawn interval"; default = 3 days.) Haven't tested this so no idea how well it works. -Dubious-
