Smite_Plight
So here's a plugin that will give you the tools to be a pirate Read the read me and be aware that beast races not being able to wear shoes disqualifies them from peg legs, and The eye patch only fits the elf races correctly. The hook looks good on everyone. Enjoy note: for future releases(this is ultra-beta) to improve , feedback is required. TheUnforgiven
I've downloaded it but have yet to check it out. It'll help if you post some information on it
Smite_Plight
Here are some screen shots for you: http://oregonstate.edu/~virdeb/ORST/ScreenShot%2013.jpg http://oregonstate.edu/~virdeb/ORST/ScreenShot%209.jpg http://oregonstate.edu/~virdeb/ORST/ScreenShot%208.jpg In a day or too I should have an update that makes the peg leg and hook look better. It will also change the peg so that it can be used by beast races and it will include an eye patch that looks good on humans.I've also made a hook that acts as a shield but stays equiped when you go into hand-to-hand mode. The only thing I have to work out is for some reason the meshes for this special hook don't go into place until you equip something else. Once I figure that out I'll release this updated version. Marxist ßastard
If only HeLLL were here to see this... Archive contains a readme, structure has no awkward directories -- just unpack directly to the Data Files folder. Plugin requires only Morrowind and contains 72 (!) GMST entries, one unnecessary cell entry (Ashlands Region: 0, -7), and an unclean dialog entry for Greeting 0. Readme lacks some information, but not much of a problem, since the plugin adds just what it says: a single NPC and its gear. Artwork is quite good -- if you've ever wanted a pegleg, eyepatch, and hook prosthetic in the game, this plugin should be kept. My advice? First and foremost, get Morrowind Enchanted Editor and clean your mod. If you want me to do it for you and attatch a fancy script or two so that the pegshoe auto-equips with the pegleg, just give the word. Also, stick to conventions -- stop using all lowercase letters and never put a line break in your dialog text. Also, leave your greeting out of Greeting 0. Get that done and this plugin will be a good promotional tool -- the world will know that your upcoming mod will have some damn good art and you can recruit some people if that's your goal. Smite_Plight
Yea I was using TESAME to clean my mod but I wasn't quite sure what the GMST entries were so I left them. In my updated version I make the peg leg a greive peice which allows the player to wear whatever shoe (singular) he likes as whell as whatever pants he likes. Marxist ßastard
TESAME is evil and doesn't let you do the more advanced stuff or edit references -- use MWEE. GMST entries are gameplay settings. These can screw things up quite badly for people without the same master files as you, and are added when you edit a plugin without listing the Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon ESMs as dependencies when you have all three expansions. With proper scripting and a little extra artwork, you can also correct some of the obvious issues, namely the hook interfering with shields and not being used as a weapon, the two peg pieces needing seperate equips, and the eyepatch not fitting with all races. You can also make it so that non-beast races have a choice between the pegleg being a greave or pants leg. For the eyepatch causing your charachter to have a chemotheraphy reaction, you'd need to ask Peregrine or another accomplished artwork... producer... person. Smite_Plight
I should be able to figure out the scripting fairly easily. I'll just make original pirate's dead body an activator that does a PCrace check and adds the appropriate patch to the corpse. I've already solved the other issues with the exception of one. The issue with the shield conflict is that the hook actually is the shield but it stays equipped when in hand-to-hand mode. for some reason the mesh for my hook doesn't appear on the person until the equip something else. Once I figure this out I'll release the micro-beta version of pirate plugin. You mentioned that my readme was incomplete. Could you please tell me what else I should include. This is my first mod released to the public so i guess I should have found out all of these little details earlier, but better late then never. Warrior-of-Shadow
whoa better than my idea....
Marxist ßastard
Sounds like a good plan, but you should consider just keeping the pirate an NPC and checking for the guy being dead before having the script run normally -- it'd keep you from having to make a new full-body mesh just for that one corpse. Also, it won't hurt to have a backup plan in case the player just adds the items in via the console and doesn't have any encounter with the NPC at all. Smite_Plight
so what kind of a script could i write so that it forces the player to have a certain item as opposed to another? I could make the script so that it force equips the new item and drops the old item , but I am trying to keep my mods compatible wih just morrowind. I'm not much of a scripter really, I have the general idea but actually sitting down and writing one is difficult. By the way here is a screenshoot of the pirate with the fixed elf patch, peg leg and the blocking hook( the regular hook is the same only you have more of an arm like in the original release and it doesn't act as a shield). both hooks will be available on the pirate. http://oregonstate.edu/~virdeb/redguard%20darkelf.jpg Edit: changed picture to show off the redguard eye patch and the availability of the regular hook. plus that picture was 4 times the kilobytes.
