Thor.
Again you could take my fist advice and get yourself a Creative card, the firmware is always free and updates are free. Also hassle free.
K00L
But that's the thing. At first I thought this was my Rocketfish sound card I bought. But both that and the onboard did the same thing, and neither show up in audio devices. If I could get either to show up that'd be great. Although my 560 Ti is a bit of a space hog and hasn't left much room in the computer.
Thor.
I think i know what your problem is try disabling onboard sound for it could be causing conflicts with your card. Not all sound devices work well with one another, i had that happen before with my On board sound and another older creative Audigy. one was giving off interference. Make sure to disable whatever your not using and start from there. Look inside your Bios, it could be activated in there and not showing up do to conflicting hardware. Edited August 1, 2012 by Thor. K00L
:P I already tried that. I might try reinstalling my card now that the modem is gone (Edit: Also I haven't had any card in for a while now. I took it out a few weeks back since I had no difference in my problem.) K00L
Heh you know things are bad when people just post an upside down smiley. :P Anyway, I just put my Rocketfish back in (after uninstalling all my onboard audio drivers and disabling it in BIOS). Then I let the PC detect it and after that installed the drivers from the CD and restarted.Doesn't show up still. The computer knows its there. It said New Hardware and found out it was a Rocketfish sound card. Its in the Device Manager and under the Hardware tab of Sounds and Audio Devices. In every place I see it, it says that everything is working fine. But its still not detected as an audio device.

K00L
unistall Microsoft UAA bus driver and install your soundcard driverI'll try this. Didn't even think about that when I saw it earlier. Edit: Still no luck. Is this PCI Device that it keeps saying is new hardware because of uninstalling this? (just curious that I didn't do something else.) Edited August 1, 2012 by K00L
Thor.
In all worst cases it could be a bad pci slot-failing. maybe you should check for dust inside your case and make sure its clean. Dust to can cause static and interference
K00L
But see that's the thing, my onboard doesn't work either. And the card shows up when I put it in and turn on the computer. It even recognizes it as a Rocketfish sound card.
