Kungfushiver
You are right, fixing it is going to be time consuming. The fastest way would be to start over with no mods and a completely clean install. I'm not sure your reference to using NMM vs, manual install...? I am not thinking your problems were caused by manual installation, but rather improperly uninstalling or updating mods (this can be accomplished with the automatic updater, it does improve the process but you still need to read the readmes before making any changes to mods to avoid problems.) One of the difficulties with trying to fix what you have is exactly what you are running across....especially of the script error is related to an incompletely removed mod, it may be difficult if not impossible to identify the source or fix it. However.. BOSS is sorting software (that is what the ss in the name refers to) it not just lists them, but can also sort them so they load optimally. The bash tag suggestions are for compatibility with Wrye Bash, which you may or may not want to get into at this point...you can find it on the nexus if you want more info. Boss will often also let you know if you are running two mods that do the same thing , and may provide notes to help, but it is not intended to be bug fixing software, so it is not going to solve all mod-related issues. It is very good, I believe, in helping to avoid problems on the front end by providing you with optimal load order. If you decide to try to fix this, (instead of starting over) my guess is that you could be looking at least at 5 hours time. You would need to address all of the errors you see in the BOSS and script logs. The error log, as you have noted, refers to files but not necessarily to the mod that caused the change. You have just a lot of mods, and as you stated you have removed some, possibly incorrectly. I know it is extremely painful to start over, but that is my recommendation for the most efficient way to solve the problem. If you are desperate to maintain your current game, you could try: 1. Verifying your game cache through steam. If you are very lucky, this will fix the scripts missing from mods if you improperly removed them, and your life will be good. It is kinda a long shot, but it could work, and shouldn't hurt anything.2. If that doesn't work, you could try properly removing all of the mods you currently have exactly following the mod author's instructions, then running the error log again to see if errors remain. If they do, then it is very likely that you do have errors from improper removal of mods. At that point, you will probably have to take a deep breath and start over with a completely clean uninstall/reinstall. But you could try...3. Try to remember what mods you were updating/removing before the problem arose, then read the mod authors readme and discussions (or contact the mod author) to see if the files you have in your error log are associated with their mod, and what, if anything you might be able to do.4. You could try a clean reinstall and then try to load your current save game, but this could reintroduce the problem. Honestly I suspect that practically everyone has been in your shoes at some point. I had major issues after the 1.5 update and had to give up a level 50 character. So I do feel your pain. If you decide to do the complete uninstall reinstall, be sure to delete local content through steam, then go through and check to be sure to remove all skyrim files/folders, including your savegame file (under user/documents). Then, when you reinstall, it may help not to add any mods until after you exit the cave. When you do add mods, add them one at a time exactly as the author recommends, run BOSS and play for a bit to check them. (Some people add more than one at a time, knowing that if a problem shows up they will then need to troubleshoot those few instead of just 1.) If a problem appears, go back to the readme of that mod, see of its a known issue for which there might be a workaround. To troubleshoot it, do not just disable it, but completely uninstall exactly as the author recommends. If a mod appears to cause trouble, it may be that it has a conflict with one of your other mods. The way to test that is to play the game with only that mod enabled (again properly completely removing the other mods, not just disabling) if the problem exists with only that mod added to your game, you might want to let the mod author know. They may be able to help you. IF it does work by itself, you can add mods back until the error reoccurs. Then you may need to make a decision about which mod you prefer. Larger mods like Tytannis, Wars, UFO, Deadly Dragons etc can be trickier because they affect so much of the game, so if there is one of those you really like you might add it first, and then see which of your mods play nicely with it. Anyway I am sorry not to have a quick and easy solution for you but I hope something here helps!
Kungfushiver
This has got to be THE best explanation on working out mod conflicts, here's hoping you've solved my issue as well. If not, and I have to start a knew character, you've made it much safer to install mods
