blitzen
I use Alternate Start - Live Another Life by Arthmoor. It seems to work well. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9557
cptcairney
Cheers trying it now ;) hopefully at least get me past that area. Also just tried removing all body textures again, and used the conflict detector, disabling mods I found didn't need so much but still no luck :( Edit* Just tried that mod, could start and create a character, chose imperial soldier, but once I left solitude it crashed to desktop with no error message again :( bloody game is killing me Edited June 26, 2012 by cptcairney
blitzen
When you said "disabling all mods", did you mean simply unchecking them? You may actually have to uninstall them. If you've been using NMM or a similar product, it will remove the associated files when you uninstall. Otherwise, you may have scripts and things laying around that are still affecting the game. There are plenty of mods with no .esp files, so there's nothing to uncheck (unless they are .esm-only). I doubt that it's simply texture mods, unless your system has low specs. Are you crashing now as soon as you exit Solitude, or after walking some distance outside? I would try to coc to some locations as a test, just in case there something special at Solitude. cptcairney
straight away after exiting solitude, and yes I've been completely removing them with the mod manager, not just un checking them, that's including texture packs etc and tytanis, unnoficial patch and similar mods. blitzen
You can try to visit other locations as a test. Pick a place, type help <place name> and page up until you get to the CELL entries, and use those to teleport around to various places. There are plenty of exterior cells listed for many locations, especially the main cities and villages. My apologies if you already know how to do all this. I'm never sure who knows what about this game.

yafi
So you've removed every mod, both .ini files, verified integrity of cache files, uninstalled then reinstalled the game, and it STILL won't work? Have you properly setup your Firewall/Anti Virus?
