cmkg1957 Posted November 8, 2018 Share Posted November 8, 2018 I'm quite new to modding Phantom Pain and I was wondering if there is a way to remove the mask of the Parasite Suit and have the player head there instead. I'm using the PT Protagonist mod (as well as the TMWSTW Under suit) and think the Parasite Suit would look pretty awesome with the head. I also don't mind if it replaces another outfit, preferably the standard sneaking suit as I hardly ever use it. Any help would be appreciated! cmkg1957 Posted November 11, 2018 Author Share Posted November 11, 2018 Someone pointed out that the mask disappears in Side Op 144 when you retrieve Volgin's body. I tried with the unmodded and TMWSTW Parasite Suit and was surprised to see that the mask was indeed replaced with the hospital head and the tubing running to the mask was also gone. Do you happen to know where the data for that cutscene is? I thought maybe there there's a model for the Parasite Suit used exclusively for that cutscene. I tried other methods but the closest I got was the normal head clipping through the mask, guessing it is all one model in the Parasite Suit fpk Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's just hiding the mask model and attaching the hospital head to the body, which is achievable via the methods I mentioned previously. The data for that side-op is in chunk2.dat\Assets\tpp\pack\mission2\quest\afgh\tent\tent_q99040.fpk (and tent_q99040.fpkd); however, it also uses some assets from chunk2.dat\Assets\tpp\pack\mission2\free\f30010\f30011.fpk. From what I can tell, there aren't any assets in there that will be helpful in this process. The mask hiding/head attaching was likely handled directly by the cutscene fsm, which is not easy to extract data from. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Only problem I encountered was that the back weapon is clipping through the speaker like mesh on the back. Is there any way to edit the position of the back weapon?
