A question on distance....

Well, I took an NPC, Fargoth, and assuming the guy is 5 feet tall, measured Vvardenfell. All in all, the whole place is maybe 6 by 5 miles if you include the tiny outlying islands. Now, the fact that time is sped up rather dramatically in Morrowind of course compliments this, but I was wondering.....

What would it take to make a scaled-to-life version of Vvardenfell, or for that matter all of Tamriel?

Using TESCS, I approximate one square mile would be about 16 by 16 exterior cells, if we guestimate Fargoth at 5 feet tall.

I myself am creating a remake of the game, using my own world, Aelithril, much like others are redoing it with Middle Earth. However, I'm going to attempt to use scaled-to-life distances. Chances are I'll never get it done, but I'll post chunks of it in the MOD collection from time to time.

(I first started measuring everything when I started realizing you could fit all of Vvardenfell into the Tacoma, WA metro area. ;) )

It'd take quite a bit of calculations, but feel free to go for it.

Not sure what the point of your post is though.

Personally I wanted to do one of Middle-Earth, but I'm glad there are some people with a better knowledge than me to do it.

I think its a great idea

I had no clue that Vvardenfell was that small although its just an island

Priticularly guess work would be the hardest part especially if you guess that an NPC is 5 feet tall.........according to that most or all of the NPC's are 5 feet tall as they all share the same basic frame work, besides males vs. females whose only diff. is either sum hight or physical apperance

Go for it and if you dun finish i'll try it out..........if i ever get internet on the morrowind comp B)
