Help with Cobl - Moving the Luggage

I really need the ability to move or re-position the luggage in my purchased player homes, because I have added mods to all of them, I hate the vanilla player home designs, especially once I see the wonderful modded versions.

It would be great if I could move the luggage though, because look what happens, for example, here in Leyawiin:

I have searched the Cobl esp (s) in the Construction set, but I can't find the answer. I just do not see where the entries that control the luggage are.

**I had already thoroughly examined the luggage entries before, in the construction set anyway, because I believed the luggage may have eaten a bunch of my stuff, but I eventually found some of the important ones and further testing seemed to show it as safe. (I had disabled all but the Oblivion master file when this issue came up, though, and now everything appears to be back, it also could have been related to a save game issue as I have gone back to a much earlier save game a couple of times since the issue with the missing items.)

The point is, I haven't even been able to find the main container that keeps all the stuff that's in the Luggage is, in the construction set. I really wanted to search inside it when I had that missing item issue.

I have already searched the Cobl site and Wrye's postings and forums, but I'm not a member there, and have very little to contribute as such a noob.

But Meris thinks this just won't do.

I can't guarantee this won't blow up your game and kill your cat, but when I want to reposition things in-game, I sometimes just use console commands.

Open the console,

click on the item you want to reposition

use the commands "getpos x", "getpos y", "getpos z" to get the current position

use the commands "setpos x", "setpos y", "setpos z" to change the current position

for example: "getpos z" might return 1000. If you want to lower the chest a little, you might try "setpos z 980".

similarly, you can use "getangle/setangle" to turn things.

I've done this with containers that contained objects, and it worked fine, nothing lost or anything. Still, suggest you make sure you have a backup copy of your current save before you try.

Hey my game has blown up before, and I survived the tragedy! :D I'll take your advice and make sure all my saves and backup are in order and give it a go, sounds like as good a plan as any. I feel kind of silly that it never even occurred to me, but I didn't even know about "getpos x" etc, only setangle!

Thanks a lot!
