Deleted1926808User
Hello all, It was a long time ago that I actually played Skyrim, and now it'ss occured to me that I can't use beast form. Nothing happens when I try to activate it, and then I can't open the menu as it says "Character menu not available". I don't know what causes it, so help needed. Shall I show you my load order? Deleted1926808User
Bumping again. I would like some heads up of what's wrong, I wanna know if anyone has the same problem at least.
kevkiev
Did you try de-activating your mods one by one (the various werewolf ones would be my fist suspects)? Verify game cache?
Zinthros
Your bets bet is to try reloading an older save / disabling werewolf mods or both.
Deleted1926808User
I've tried to deactivate every single mod I had and verify game cache, no luck. I hope I haven't screwed up the script files involving werewolves or something...
Deleted3900870User
I've tried to deactivate every single mod I had and verify game cache, no luck. I hope I haven't screwed up the script files involving werewolves or something... From what I can tell, it's a script issue. Check out this thread: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/652652-beast-form-for-werewolf-not-working/ I'm experiencing the same issue and haven't found a suitable fix for it yet. I'm thinking I might just reinstall Skyrim if it gets to a point where it bugs me too much. Though that would be a painful last resort, if anything... EDIT: Well, I went into my Skyrim Scripts folder in the hopes of trying something a bit different. Moved the two scripts I had in there that started with "Werewolf" out into a temporary folder in My Documents, then went ingame to see if that fixed anything. Added beast form via console, activated it and I began to transform. None of the people in the city seemed too bothered by this, and when the transformation was done, I was frozen. I tried moving around a bit, then jumped and suddenly all controls were restored, but I wasn't *really* in Werewolf form. I could still see the pouch on my butt from my Iron Armor, my sword in its sheath and my face peeking out from underneath the Werewolf's neck. Additionally, all of my animations and attacks were still available to me as if I was a human still. I could also access the Character Menu for some reason. It's progress, but I wanted to be a Werewolf, not wear a Werewolf coat. Edited August 6, 2012 by Guest
AtumReign
I'm having exactly this issue myself, along with a myriad of other issues that i have yet to get help with ha ha ha. Why can't we all get personal expert PC technicians that just live with us and solve all our computer problems? maybe there'll be an app for that in the future. I thought it was a mod at first until I reverted the cosmetic mods back to vanilla. Steam keeps saying that one of my files failed to validate too and the file it tried to download is almost 800 bytes. However even in a near stock state I can't access Beast Mode. What I end up with is being locked out of the Character Menu. The Companions quest that turns you into a werewolf still works, but trying to turn into one after that triggers this problem. I want to know what to do about this. Will I have to reinstall Skyrim? Edited November 27, 2012 by MarkusFox
Deleted3900870User
Well, I figured the topic was dead but if other people are having the issue, it's worth posting here: I ended up completely reinstalling Skyrim to fix the issue. I was unable to find what the problem was, though I suspect it was an error in the scripts still. Either way, I was unable to locate the exact script causing the problem after a few weeks of trial and error, and just gave up and reinstalled everything.
