SKYZOO
This doesn't have to do with a mod trouble more of a entire game trouble. I cannot take a screenshot while playing FNV, not with F12, PRTSC, not while on pause or in console command NOTHING. Does anyone have an alternate method to take screenshots? Is there a console code command or a way to reprogram the hotkey for screenshots? I have a 2011 laptop w/ windows 7 64-bit that runs everything pretty smooth, I run FNV w/ FNVSE and never really have a CTD or trouble so what am I doing wrong? Do I have to run FNV as the admisitrator? I know I could get a third party program to snap photos of what's on screen but i'm hoping there's a simpler way.Any help is appreciated. To enable screenshots: In Fallout_default.ini: search for and make yours match it. (put 1 instead of 0)bAllowScreenShot=1 You might also need to update one or both of the INI files in your Saves directory. found by searching google "new vegas screenshot"...at least try to search, it's faster, and people don't waste time. SKYZOO
Didn't mean to waste anyone's time, I tried google search but never found the answer like you gave it (probably how I typed it in). Thank you for your help I will go and try that out, it will be nice to have the feature active. Regardless, thanks for your response it's appreciated. SKYZOO
Okay back again I went and looked at all of the .ini files you mentioned and all instances of that line say "bAllowScreenShot=1" already, all .ini's are consistent with each other so unless you mean updating the .ini files in a way I don't understand, it's still a no go on screen shots for me. I tried setting them all to 0 then saving and changing them back to 1again, I tried searching for more answers on google and bing, but I can't seem to find solutions. I'm open to try whatever I have to in making it work so if anyones got any ideas let me know...
SineWaveDrox
For screenshots, I always use FRAPS. Works well for my purposes, and it can also display your framerate if you want it to. The free version is limited to saving screenshots in .BMP, but hey, it's free.

Fraps is probably gonna be your best bet, but if your dead set on not using another tool, theres only a couple of things I can think of that could be causing it, which is running it as administrator, though if you're using a mod loader you generally have to, other than that you've got me stumped, good luck though. SKYZOO
Thanks guys for the feedback I'll give that a go and if it doesn't seem to work I'll go a different route with a 3rd party recorder and try that. I appreciate the advice, goodday. /\/\/\/\/\ sorry for the generic response there I blanked...I've never ran as administrator on the FNVSE button, just double clicked usually, I have FOMM for general purposes too the archive button helps out well. As for the FRAPS, thanks for the link I have a good converter for picture and video formats I'll give it a shot. jcro25
I used to have this problem when I played on my laptop which was also 64-bit. My solution was to press the "FN" key (Function) and hold the "Prt Scr" (Print Screen) button at the same time when you wanted to take a screenshot. Then close the game open up paint and press Ctr+V which should paste the printscreen you took in the game onto paint. Then save the image as whatever format you would like ( I recommend JPEG as this format takes up less disk space)I hope this helps  Jcro25 :nuke: Edited June 29, 2012 by jcro25

SKYZOO
I've always wondered what the FN key was for now I finally know thanks...I've had luck using FRAPS and then converting the .bmp to .jpg and downsizing them but I'll give the new method a shot once I'm tired of multi-conversion programs. Thanks for the input I thought I was really the only one with this problem lol...good to know there's a fix.
