kevkiev
So I'm entering Falkreath and am immediately set upon by 3 guards. I don't want to kill them so I sheathed/unsheathed/sheathed my weapon a few times while I'm taking their blows until finally one of them said "Okay, I think you've had enough." (Luckily, 'cuz if my health would have gone down much more I wouldn't have had a choice but to defend myself.) At which point they walked away and went back to their usual random comments. My companion, Jordis, had actually put an arrow into a couple of the guards. Apparently without any repercussions. :whistling: If I had a bounty on my head, I thought I'd get some kind of arrest dialogue after the fight ended and not a "If it isn't the slayer of the Glamoril (sp?) witches, how can I assist you Companion" and the like. What could have caused this? Actually, on that note, is there somewhere in the UI that lists active bounties? Rooker75
General stats > Crime shows bounty info. Not sure why the guards would attack and then not try to arrest you. That's weird. You're not a vampire, are you?
Freyrgjurd
I don't know about active bounties, but that happens a lot to me. Usually after I complete some quest that involves killing someone nearby the city grounds (in the hold). Last time I found out that I was "shouting" at them. The shout was being released right before the image appeared, then I unequipped it... so long. Sometime I still forget =x Note: Happens with the bow too... Edit: If the bouty is high, they just go for it. Don't know how high though... 1k ? Edited June 29, 2012 by Freyrgjurd
kevkiev
Nope, not a vampire, although I did cure myself of the first stages of that affliction recently. None of the hunger messages or anything tho. I only mention that 'cuz I don't really trust Skyrim's way of keeping track of that sort of thing. For example, my char's a werewolf but still manages to contract all sorts of diseases despite supposedly having disease-repellant beast blood. First time in gazillions of hours (literally, gazillions!) I've had that happen. Maybe I've just been lucky. Ah well, yeah, maybe I shouted too close to the town or something. Was actually kinda cool, especially since everyone walked away with life and limbs intact. I can see the stats for total lifetime bounties, and largest bounty, but nothing to tell me if I have a bounty out on me currently? Rooker75
If you have a bounty currently, it'll be shown as "Active Bounty: <amount>" and tell you what hold(s). Otherwise, you don't have one.

Ah, so no news is good news. Thanks Rooker75, I've always wondered about that.
Snowsong
Yeah, if you do a shout too close to any townspeople, they consider it attacking the townspeople. They'll kick your butt for that.
NoobusExtremus
I just started a new game just to play around as a hunter - not going to do any main quests - using Frostfall and IMP's More Complex Needs. After rolling a new character at Helgen, I went to Riverwood and on the way out of town grabbed some salmon from the drying rack and some cabbages from a cart. It said "take" not "steal". Next time I went to Riverwood, they all attacked me and I ended up having to kill one of them...I haven't been back since. I wonder why they did that? Oh well, their loss.
