Leandro63 Posted July 2, 2012 Author Posted July 2, 2012 By the way let me just say this again I use to be able to run the game on Ultra High pre patch crash free but now if I run it Medium or higher my game crashes the pc.
Leandro63 Posted July 4, 2012 Author Posted July 4, 2012 Okay guys I think it might be the power supply since it's now happening with Half Life 2 episode 1, can anyone tell me if this is a suitabe power supply to run skyrim? COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS-500-PCAR-A3-US 500W

COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS-500-PCAR-A3-US 500WBefore you just jump on it being the PSU, you should do some testing on other components. Like I said previously, look into and run memtest, chkdsk, etc. to see if you can pinpoint what exactly is failing. There's no point in replacing the PSU if it isn't the part that's failing. Also, the PSU you want to get is dictated by the peak power draw of your computer, not the games you want to run. Most single-GPU systems are good at 500+, while dual-GPU are safer to be in the 650+ range (Usually. Hard drive, CPU, Mobo, RAM, and other PCI cards and peripherals factor into your peak power draw.) As for brands, I would strongly suggest either Seasonic or Corsair (Corsairs are actually just rebranded Seasonics.)
