[LE] Giving an ugly shrub an empty .nif, so it isn't anywhere to be found in Skyrim?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

Is it possible? If yes, where can I find an invisible nif or create one? And would i get the same performance boost as if there where no object at all?

Or can I make an esp, which deletes all shrubs with the specific base id?

Would you suggest another way? Mind you that "disable" and "markfordelete" are not an option, because I WANT THEM ALL gone :P

Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend :)

Hmm. well, You could unpack the Skyrim .bsa files with a unpacker program. Find the shrub in question (prob via looking for it in the CK) then in the Skyrim folders match where that is with a different .nif file. (I'd just put one there you like by the name of the shrub you don't like). This way you would actually not hurt the game at all or have to remove anything. It would just use the substituted .nif in place of it.

Skyrim will 1st look in your folders for the .nif ... if not there it will use the .nif from the .bsa ...

Or it will use the last reference to the .nif as in an added mod.

The .bsa file is set up just like your folders are, in packed form.

I would in this case just find a mod that has a different shrub. There are many mesh improvement mods.

I could give you a better answer (or a more pointed) if I knew what shrub you were talking about.

I would probably go about that by finding the offending shrub in the CK (with the Skyrim BSAs already extracted as NexusComa suggested) then editing the base item, and adding the NullTextureSet texture to them (might be 1 part or several, set that on all of them) to make it all invisible. Still be there but you won't see them. That is what I would do with a static anyway, I am assuming a little that plants work the same way, can't say i've edited one before.
