Razputin53
Since this mod is very popular I thought I'd at least ask: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/44772?tab=description&BH=1 Has anyone managed to get this to work through Vortex? I've tried a couple things, but the textures do not change in game.
rmm200
This is another case where Archive Invalidation absolutely has to work correctly.I think someone on Tannin's staff needs to look at it, and this is a nice simple test case. Well, a 1.7GB test case. There is nothing in this mod except textures.
BigBizkit
Could you try to provide more information as to what exactly seems to not be working? Are you getting any error messages? What exactly is the sequence you follow when installing the mod in question and what happens at each stage? We need more information regarding this potential issue to properly investigate and address it. Thank you for understanding.
Razputin53
@BigBizkit I simply download the file on Nexus using the manager button, and enable it properly in Vortex. It doesn't give any messages, it just doesn't change anything at all. The same is true for several other texture packs I've tried.
BigBizkit
Do you have automatic deployment turned on or are you deploying your mods after enabling them?
Razputin53
Automatic deployment is enabled.
BigBizkit
When you look in the game's data folder, are the textures showing up there after deployment?
Razputin53
@BigBizkit I checked a few texture folders and it looks like upon deployment it adds/changes the content like I *think* it should. When I disable the mod it reverts. So it seems to be the similar problem I'm having with other mods where the content is deployed, but is not used by the game for some reason. I've had at least a handful of mods act the exact same way as Qarl's.
UrizenDe
Did you enable Vortex` Archive Invalidation ( Settings -> Workaround -> BSA Redirection )? Did you check the Oblivion.ini ( c:/users/username/documents/my games/oblivion/ ) for a line that looks something like this: SArchiveList=Vortex - BSA Redirection.bsa, Oblivion - Meshes.bsa, Oblivion - Textures - Compressed.bsa, Oblivion - Sounds.bsa, Oblivion - Voices1.bsa, Oblivion - Voices2.bsa, Oblivion - Misc.bsa ? Make sure both are the case and Qarls should work.
Razputin53
@UrizenDe I definitely did not have that enabled. I enabled it and got it to update the ini so it matches what you said, but I'm in the same situation as the Qarls content isn't being used.
