dragonslayer2k12
So the opposite would be someone making fun of him then? I would rather say something to make him think than to make fun of. This being the internets and all I am surprised someone hasn't done it yet though. I wasn't saying I don't like the mod or that is is unnecessary and I didn't understand just how much he doesn't want to even see one of those fish so I made some suggestions but I am interested in knowing why someone is having a problem like this because it is something completely unknown to me. I can understand fear of tigers lions snakes guns etc but not something like this. There was a news report on tv many years ago that highlighted a company helping people deal with their phobias in the real world with interactive versions of those things in a VR game but I never thought I would hear about a phobia of the opposite of that. It really is better to help than to say nothing and if the person begins to think about the why of something it would go a long way in overcoming their phobias. They won't think about the why though if they are not encouraged to do so. I don't think bethesda intended to build a mental test that subjects you to phobias into their game but for this person that is probably what that feels like. Now to be back on topic, as the OP said if the slaughterfish were gone some quests would not work so maybe if they were not rendered and then frozen in place so they can't move or be detected as a threat so fast travel won't be interrupted by enemies nearby warning too. Rennn
...is something completely unknown to me. This is why you shouldn't have said anything.
oliv897
I did not know or even notice dead ones in the marketplace?!?!?! Its just the way they swim and the way they act and look at me... it freaks me out and truth be told what pushed me way over the edge was when I ended up swimming in the ocean out north and a giant one popped up and said hi... as for RL I was cleaning a Fish tank at my Fathers Aquatics & Exotic Pet Store and a Pleko Placostimus(sort of like well a slaughter fish cross with that fish that has the glowy thing on its head) and this fish in particular has a razor sharp thin on its back and well it made contact with my wrist and under arm and then perceded to jump out the tank and land on my chest going completely nuts..... .....I also tried to get past the fear by buying a goldfish but the Bas.... kept banging the top of the tank every night so it made me worse.. I hope that's a valid reason to not like these fiends in the game?
Beas7ie
I'd like to get rid of them not because of any phobias or anything but just from how annoying those damn things are. If one is even near you, you can't fast travel. Extremely annoying during the DB mission when you first leave the abandoned shack. And to make it even worse Bethesda made it so you can't even attack when in the water, which is a huge problem all on its own!

dragonslayer2k12
I left that hole for rennn to stick his head through:-) @oliv897 Ah yeah ok that makes a lot of sense now, yeah I would not be happy to see something like that either after some strange experiences too. I remember as a kid that some people would keep tarantulas as pets and watching those things eat lunch everyday for a week was the last straw for me and spiders. The sooner you don't have to live near a fish tank the better off you will be. The longer something bothers you when you are younger the worse it will be later on it life. If rennn does make a mod for you it would probably be best to just make them stop moving and not seen as enemy when you the player is nearby and like you said the stuff they leave behind could be found in something else instead. vicki08
Good afternoon, everyone! Was anyone ever able to develop a mod for SSE that removes the Slaughterfish scourge? I find them to be very annoying, and I would very much enjoy not having to deal with them. Thanks!Victoria
