Trouble getting CBP to work with HDT for HDT hairs

Hi, as the title suggests, I can't get CBP to work with Yundao's Hair with Physics SSE, which requires HDT, located here:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18566

If I have HDT alone handling all physics, the hairs and body physics work fine, however my framerate tanks with HDT alone handling all physics.

If I let CBP handle the physics without HDT my frame rate is fine but I obviously won't get the HDT hairs to work.

When I try to use CBP and HDT together, with CBP handling body physics and HDT handling hairs, the hair will clip straight through the character to the floor, it kind of looks like the hair stretches straight down from the NPC's head to the floor. My file structure is as follows:

Under

Data/SKSE/Plugins/

I have the following files:

hdtSSEPhysics.dll

hdtSSEFramework.dll

cbp.dll

CBPConfig.txt

CBPCollisionConfig.txt

Under

Data/SKSE/Plugins/hdtSkinnedMeshConfigs/

I have the "CBBE SMP Config v1.0.6" files provided by ousnius from Caliente's Beautiful Body Enhancer

Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to tinker with the files located in /hdtSkinnedMeshConfigs/? The posts in Yundao's Hair mod page suggests deleting all files in this folder, however that did not resolve the issue. I am also using the newest versions of skse, HDT, CBP, and Skyrim. Thanks for the help!

I cannot believe he did not answer you with how he fixed the issue - I am faced with the same issues, have the same files installed as you do, and would very much like to fix this crap once and for all!

Did you ever find a fix? If so, please share! Thanx.

Oh, found it! Sorry, I don't get notifications when people answer in the forums and explained the solution to El_Hombre via message. For others who come across this, here is what I did.

I have SSE 1.5.62, SKSE64 12, hdtSSE framework and physics 1.5.62 (so NOT the updated stuff), SINful CBPC MCM. Below is a copy/past mix of steps provide by other folks in the comments/stickies that I followed (largely the same as xWarHGx but I use the MCM not the configs):

1. Install HDT Framework and HDT Physics.

2. Install XP32 Skeleton.

4. Install Yundao hair.

5. Install CBPC.

6. Install CBPC MCM.

Edit CBPC defaultBBP. xml, delete all the stuff in the middle until it looks like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<default-bbps>
</default-bbps>

Try the MCM, it seems to work much better.

Hey, sorry to be responding to this thread a year later, but I'm in the same situation now. I've followed these instructions to the letter but my character's hair still just goes straight into the ground to infinity. Everything is up to date. Any ideas?

So far, I have completely removed the mod "HDT-SMP", but still have "Faster HDT-SMP", "CBPC", "CBP", "3BA, 3BBB, CBBE installed, and I am beginning to think that I should remove either the CBP, or the CBPC as either provide physics in much the same way as HDT-SMP to my understanding.

How this would affect the Physics hair mods, I am unsure, but I DID load a single "KS Hairdos HDT-SMP" hair in RaceMenu to my character with no crash and the physics for that particular hair (I don't know the name of it) work without HDT-SMP, even though it IS a hard requirement for that mod.

Of course this is being done on a new game immediately after Character Creation, while using "Alternate Start LAL". I simply consoled RaceMenu back up and added the aforementioned hair and it worked!

In RaceMenu, the rest of the hairs from that mod cause CTD's - same with Yundao hair with Physics. All wigs equipped outside of RM either cause a CTD, or "floor-board" to infinity, depending on which actual hair model or wig is used. I am not sure why, or what the differences are from hair to hair that cause them NOT to "like" whatever it is that they affect, or that affects them, and in the case of Yundao Hair w/Physics, I have reached out to Vyxenne with these issues but have recieved no response as yet - I don't think she likes me anymore lol!

This is my current progress as of this writing.

If anyone can offer some actual solutions/info that WORK, please post here, and be thorough - others would like to know exactly what steps to take to resolve their respective issue(s). Nothing ruder and more irritating than when someone posts "I found the fix" and then they disappear with no elaboration!!!!

Faster HDT-SMP can be configured in tandem with CBPC to work with specific parts of the CBBE 3BA body. This can reduce stress on your CPU/GPU. The floor-board indicates the SMP is not properly installed, or is a complete mismatch with the wigs physics for some reason. I gave up on HDT-SMP wigs, because they got too twitchy, so I am afraid that I can't be of more help.

From CBPC page - This mod overwrites CBP because it has the same dll name. You don't need CBP, this mod replaces it.

Again from the CBPC page - It's not compatible with Realistic Ragdolls and Force because Realistic Ragdolls and Force is not compatible with XP32 skeleton(changes it). XP32 skeleton already includes that mod(not all but some features) so you don't need it. You'll get problems like bad skeleton issues(stretching body parts etc) when you ran it together with this mod. Because this mod needs XP32 skeleton period, and RRF overwrites XP32.
