jazzak25
I have over 100 followers, as many as my engine can handle, and grateful as i am to modders making them, dumping them in inns gets a bit old. I feel as though there's scripts within the game that can randomly place these followers, make it more fun to discover them in the world. Examples: 1 - Hearthfires had a quest where your spouse would be removed from her home (kidnapped) and taken to another location. 2 - I think the companions have a radiant quest that moves a random npc to another location. 3 - MHIYH mod can assign followers to make their new home in a new location (be it of your choosing though) I thought this could somehow be done to random followers in game, the trick is to do it with custom followers. Perhaps it's possible to have an MCM menu that shows a list of all your custom followers in game, and you can select which ones you'd like to randomy move about. (nice to keep some in inns) Am i wrong in assuming this? Make for a more exciting playthrough. Thnx
DarkRudra
I think it should be possible, though it might need some new scripts. Depends on how that Companions quest works, I guess. I'd certainly like to see this made - I'm kind of tired of the Bee & Barb being overfilled with extra followers. I thought this could somehow be done to random followers in game, the trick is to do it with custom followers. Perhaps it's possible to have an MCM menu that shows a list of all your custom followers in game, and you can select which ones you'd like to randomy move about. (nice to keep some in inns) I imagine you could do it based on factions somehow. Maybe display all the members of the PotentialFollowerFaction or whatever it's called. Set up a formlist containing all the vanilla/DLC followers and use that as a cross reference to exclude them. It would probably be a good idea make a patch to add Interesting NPC characters to that, since moving them might break 3DNPC quests. The only part I'm unsure about is finding and disabling the references that put the followers in their original locations - I'm not sure if there's a way to do that dynamically (or it might be very easy for all I know). I've actually seen a mod that can randomly place followers in a dungeon when you enter or in overworld encounters. It's not quite up to spec with this idea - it included vanilla followers, only females, could place them behind walls, didn't disable the original locations (and was an Estrus addon, of all things). But it is another proof of concept of the idea. Edited November 25, 2018 by DarkRudra
TheForgottenGirl
Hello :)This is a great idea and I think that it can be done with followers that use the vanilla follower system, I'm not sure about followers with custon follower systems though. This mod could add a new dialogue option (something like "It's time for us to part ways. I'll find you later"), and selecting this option makes your follower leave you and go to a random location (this can be done using a script).I think that it can be similar to Go On Ahead, only you can't choose where your follower waits for you and the list of possible locations is bigger (inns, settlements, maybe caves or dungeons (like your follower went adventuring on their own) etc.)Maybe the list of possible locations can use some sort of parameter like checking if a location is an inn or a dungeon, so you can find your followers in locations from other mods.
