Navmesh issue

Hi all.

Just finished my dungeon, entrance 'n' all and noticed followers wouldn't follow. Rechecked internal mesh, all is fine, re-finalized the mesh. The exterior however is the problem. The navmesh finishes a distance away from the door. I tried making new vertices but they wouldn't connect with existing navmesh. Tried pulling the existing nodes closer to the door and they won't budge. Tried overlapping (I know I shouldn't) the existing mesh with my new mesh, they wouldn't meet and in fact this happened - see screenshot. In the end I deleted the mesh I made but the green blocks still remain. What have I done and how can I mesh up to the door you see in the screenshot?

Thanks.

Hi, Overlapping is not a SERIOUS problem.

Just cntrl right click, and potision two triangles leading to your door.

Be sure to test it with your followers first.

If you run into any problems, you might be best to terraform the navmesh - just delete some close by navmesh and resculpt it to go up the door, its another 10 minutes of work but it will be a sure way to make it work.

Hope this helped.

edit: here is how I would do it, connecting to existing navMesh.

Thanks for replying "Just cntrl right click, and potision two triangles leading to your door". It won't make the triangles. I've done this a 100 times before, navmeshing by hand, just I place 3 nodes press A to fill the triangle and the nodes just "switch off" they don't make a triangle. Deleting nearby navmesh would seem a good option but the triangles are huge.

Because I just made it in a photoshop program in two minutes...Im not actually in the creation kit.

Im at work lol, it just shows the best way to make the triangles.

I see. Having lunch I guess. Well last question why did the green blocks appear? Never seen them before.

That is a good question.

I myself have never seen them in the ground like that.

What information do they give when double clicked, they look like encountor or actor markers to me.

As I say, I have not seen them before.

Just loading the esp again and the blocks have gone. I managed to make some triangles to the entrance but they refust to connect to the existing nodes - they all "light up" when selected and upon pressing A they turn off and no triangle is made.

Have you tried the 'merge vertices' tool to connect the triangles? You just select one vertice, then another, clicky the merge vertices button and they join up. When you have connected the vertices of the sides of two triangles together, they will join with the larger NavMesh.
