jwccis80
I am not yet a modder but have A LOT of experience using Fall Out Mods. I have been doing it for years now and have a highly modified and stable game set up using over 60 individual mods... Long story short is I am currently running out of new mods to keep myslef interested yet I WANT MORE! I feel addicted in a way. I am running 3 screens 6030x1080 resolution with a GTX 590 in 3D and my performace is starting to lag - time to upgrade to a quad SLI LCS RIG using the new GTX690s... I litterally upgrade my PC based on Fallout. Im telling you, the modder this so you can get a feel for how serious I am about what comes next - Fall Out has been the only game to ever hold my interest for years and I believe that it is almost infinitely expandable. (hopefully the next game will be able to be linked to FO3 and NV like with RFCW....) I was thinking, what else can we do.. what other mods are there...? Think "outside the box...!" Then it hit me. A program / App capable of streaming the in game Pip-Boy, real time to an external touch screen device like an I-Pad! However, not an I-Pad because I believe if this were possible - which anything is really - that android would be a far better platform. I own an eee-pad by android and its fantastic and I was thinking, "Imagine I could use this as my Pip-Boy while playing FNV!!!!!! So basicaly, a program would need to be written to stream all the in-game data to the external device wirelessly through a network connection. The device would display the pipboy screens just as in the game, operable by touch screen. A good start is to think of programs that allow you to access and control your PC over the Internet no matter where you are. The eee-pad uses "Splashtop Connect" to do this. Once connected, i can control my PC (seeing its actual desktop) from anywhere. So the programm in essence would be similar except it would only stream the contents of the PIP-BOY to the device. With the connection open, whenever you hit "TAB" to access the pip-boy, the screens would open on the device. I can actually, open a connection via splashtop connect (which is like a remote desktop) and leave it on while playing on my PC. In this fassion, I can see the game on the device and when I hit TAB, I can see the PIPBOY on the device! However, a few changes need to be made. First off, using splashtop is no good cause it streams everything and there is mucho Lag. Second, it would be far better to isolate the program to deal with PIP only and perhaps allow it to be real-time, In otherwords, you dont have to hit TAB to see the PIPBOY on the device because it is always running as a background program that sends data to the game corresponding with your actions like equiping weapons etc... How cool would it be to see the MAP on your hand-held device while playing FNV and not have to tab into the PIPBOY all the time to see where you are / fast travel / switch gear / etc... Anyway, that's IT! GEEKIFIED, I KNOW! But hey, it would make me happy as well as a lot of other folks I assume and it would probably be the next "Mod of the Year" IMOP...In all honesty, I actually thought of an RFCW type mod a long time ago, but he who does not have the skill does not win! So this hear is proof that I thought up the actual "Hand Held Pip-Boy!" But that doesnt matter! What matters is I want to know if anyone would be willing to take up this challenge! As this is a very unique MOD request, I am more then willing to copensate the modder for his time and effort upon completion of a successful application. You may email me if you are truly interested (and confident that you are capable of such a task) and we can discuss what kind of cost you have in mind. I am VERY SERIOUS about making this happen and I am not CHEAP... I understand what kind of work and time goes into these things. I have a series of mods that I am paying others to work on which will hopefully eventually be upoaded under my profie with credit to the builder of the mod. Any takers, email me / PM me as soon as possible! Thank-you and GOOD LUCK! JWCCIS
