VVTLIGuy
I received a custom NIF file for a dragonbone plate chest to increase its scale size. However the modder instructed me to replace the default mesh with the new NIF. But when i go into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\meshes\Armor there are no default armor meshes in it, just the ones that are installed myself or through ModManager. Please any help in locating these default armor meshes would be great. Thanks
AurianaValoria1
The default meshes are packed into the .bsa files that come with the game (or, Bethesda Softworks Archives). Simply putting the new mesh in the armor folder will suffice. Anything that is placed in the loose folders, provided they have the correct file path, will overwrite the corresponding item in the .bsa when the game loads. VVTLIGuy
Well the thing is when I tried that it wont overwrite. I contacted the modder and he stated I needed to remove the original file and replace it with the new one.

That's only true if the bsa is loaded via the ini file (as the Sykrim base archives are). For other bsa's (belonging to regular mods), the bsa will override any loose files. If you have a mod that has a bsa that changes that armor, you will have to uninstall that mod, OR, pack your loose files into a bsa with the same name as the new mod, then load the newer mod last in your load order.
