Brown faces on some LooksMenu presets

Hey y'all,

 

For some reason I get the brown face bug on some presets in LooksMenu. I don't use the HD DLC and none of the npcs or the player character in my game have the brown face bug unless I load these specfic presets.

All the mods that are required by these presets are installed correctly and work fine. I tested if the presets work if I only install these required mods but the brown face bug still occurs. It still appears even if I re-install the whole game and the required mods.

I even tried installing the HD DLC but there is no change either.

 

I'm kinda out of ideas at this point since everything is working as it should but the presets still get messed up. Images in Spoiler!

Hey,

 

I had this problem, too. The cause for that is, that some head parts (like makeup) are at a different resolution than your face. All headparts and the face have to be the same resolution or you will get a brown face.

This usually happens with the HD DLC as it changes the resolution from 0,5k to 1k for the specular map. When you install e.g. a makeup mod that uses 1k textures, you will get a brown face when applying something from this mod.

 

To fix this you have to either remove the mod that causes that, or upscale (or downscale) the textures of this mod.

 

In the mod description of Valkyr Face Texture there is a description at the bottom explaining this issue. It starts where the red text says 'For everyone who has "dark face" bug:'.

All the textures had the right resolution. For some reason the problem was the Looks Menu Customization Compendium - HD DLC fix. I removed it and everything works fine now.
