That is sad, I am old enough to remember him well. he was a generous , gentle and soft spoken man with a great flair for comedy. The old greats are passing away more and more, he will be missed.

Realy??!!!

but how ? when did it happen?

It's realy realy sad and even a little odd that how these good people

die so fast, haven't you noticed that? i mean we know lots of guys around the world, bad guys actualy; but they seem some kind of invincible, for example hitler or stalin. lots of people tried to kill them

but they just died by themselves!!.

He died early morning, like 7:00am if I remember right, July 3. They haven't given a cause, but most things I've read suggest some kind of heart trouble. He was 86, apparently they buried him within 5 hours at his home just like he asked.

Its very sad, my grandma and I used to watch reruns of his show on TV Land I believe. He was a very funny person. I also not to long ago got to be in his role in "No Time for Sergeants" in my drama class, good movie and that was loads of fun.

There are very few actors I really care about, and most... actually all... are famous for comedies. Its always weird to me to hear about famous people passing away.

"Fly away buzzard, fly away crow, way down south where the winds don't blow. Rub your nose and give two winks and save us from this awful jinx."

Well, it seems he flew instead of the crow.
