minimacker
Edit: OOO is in fact compatible with CSR, but it's something else that's causing it now. (Pasting from a newer post below) QUOTE from HHawks12First let me say i love this mod...or rather, the concept of this mod seeing as i have an annoying problem. simply, when one my companions die, the game crashes. I'm not sure why this is, i have tried reinstalling the mod, reinstalling OBSE, but it still happens. I noticed the following in my obse.txt file which is modified everytime the game crashes: OBSE: initialize (version = 15.3 010201A0)oblivion root = F:\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\plugin directory = F:\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\OBSE\Plugins\patchedDoLoadGameHook: C:\Users\Dan\Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves\autosave.essloading from C:\Users\Dan\Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves\autosave.obseUnhandled type encountered. Arg #0 numArgs = -1 paramType = 268778148 paramStr = MessageEXAssertion failed in .\GameAPI.cpp (666): unhandled type the particular partner is a beggar i recruited. i am sure there is more to it, and i have no idea if this even relates to the crash but this is all i could dig up, i am sure the solution is simple. thanks.________________________________________ after doing a little bit of testing, it seems as if the death of a squad leader is what leads to the crash i am experiencing. after demoting the NPC the game stopped crashing on his death. i went a little farther and every NPC that i promoted to squad leader would cause a crash if he/she died. -------------------------------------------------------- And yes, same for me. And it's so clear now. When a squad leader dies, the game crashes. So that's why my poor little elf companion didn't cause anything when he died against that minotaur. May the nines bless him. Please, leave comments if you've seen this before and maybe we can work out a solution so I can use squad leaders. (So much easier to find if you've told them to 'feel like home' or 'harvest ingredients')
Michlo
I use them both without a problem. Look elsewhere, check your load order with the Fcom helper tool and OBMM. Good luck.
minimacker
I'm of course using OBMM and I'm not sure about which order to load them... Since there are no traces of any of them in the read-files. What about you? Which order are you loading your 'major' mods?
Shadowcran
CM Partners should go before Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul in the load order. I've been going from help site to help site just compiling information in my head for my own game load orders and compatibilities. You're right, there's no info on whether it should go before OOO, but the FCOM loader suggests it. In fact, it goes before easy companion share and Tamriel Ingredients, but right after Jog X mod and of course, Francesco's which always goes first after the Oblivion one whenever Francesco's is used. minimacker
I'll try that, thanks. Been noticing it happens in any separate cell (Houses, taverns, mines, ruins) but not in the wilderness. Anyway, I'll see what happens. Edit: Well, no. Didn't work. This only happens in separate cells... Not in the wilderness... I just can't understand what the hell is going wrong! Plus, I noticed that if my companions DIES for some reason (Last glimpse before I crashed without any error message he had near-to death health.) That might be the reason, a companion dies... Still doesn't make sense though. OOO shouldn't interfere with an NPC dying. And why doesn't Windows give me the "send report" window? It's just so confusing. minimacker
Confirmed. Whenever one of my companion dies while fighting an NPC, the game crashed without any warning or error message. Any suggestions? Edit : Heh, I tried it WITHOUT OOO then spawned an NPC (Actually copied himself) and then provoked the clone. The clone won, my companion fell in battle and the game crashed. Without any error message or anything. Back to the desktop. So it's no longer a OOO incompatible with CSR problem. New issue is that whenever a companion dies, I crash! minimacker
Sorry for the triple post, but this is simply so those who has the same problem gets an update. The reason has been found, I searched around in some old topics in every single TES forum I could find, and this is what I found... What about you? Which order are you loading your 'major' mods? Have a look at the list in my signature, that is also my load order. :) The FCOM helper tool is very useful here. I've got the Orc from Slash N' Smash (I'm roleplaying a Noble, so I'm in need of a bodyguard :3 ) and the Guardsman in Bruma. (He's a non-respawning unique named guard. Similar to Hieronymus Lex. I'm not really sure if being a vendor or doing 'simple' scripted tasks should interfere. I mean, almost every NPC has a 'scripted week' -------------------- Oh, and I downloaded the latest version of OBMM, seemed as if I had 1.1.9 (Or something) Edit: I took a quick look at your Load order, and how come OOO is a Master file? Mine's a normal ESP!
