Importing a world state from DAO into Awakening WITHOUT importing GW

Hi there

Sorry for my bad English, but I'm so desperate.

So, I have recently finished DAO and my character died in battle with the Archdemon. I started a new game in Awakening with a new character, but it doesn't take into account my decisions in the original game. I also don't see any item to import a world state at the beginning of Awakening, only to import my old character (who is kind of dead -_-).

Please, can someone tell me how importing a world state from DAO into Awakening WITHOUT importing GW? I'm exhausted, I can't find a clear answer anywhere.

My apologies if this topic was already here, but I didn't notice it.

Thank you in advance.

For some reason, Bioware did not provide any way to import an US Warden playthough and play as the Orlesian Warden-Commander.

The nearest thing to a dead-Warden-new-character import was a very messy and immersion-breaking hack, of sorts, that involved starting Awakening as the 'dead' Warden and then replacing the player character with the Orlesian Warden Commander (with the DAO choices remaining in effect), but some of the relevant information was lost when the old Bioware Social Network forums were removed. (What remains can be found at the links in this discussion.)

IIRC, the 'missing' part of the 'hack' involved some developer console magic to access the in-game character creator, but I'm fuzzy on the specifics after all these years.

I really recommend just playing through the DLC as the Orlesian Warden-Commander, with the default world state. Then use Gibbed DA Save Generator to create a save that can be imported into DA2, with the desired world state. (Using the save generator for DA2 imports is a good idea in any event, since some key plot flags do not import correctly from the actual DAO/DAA saves.)

Oh, thank you so much for the answer. You literally saved me.

It is quite sad that Bioware has not taken care of this issue.
