Tiny fonts on items with enchantments

It seems I've run into an issue where certain items with long descriptions for the enchant will shrink the font down to where the it is unreadable. It almost looks like someone takes the text "margins" and moves them closer together, the font shrinks because the area it's printed on is not the full width of the item description box. This has happened with several items, most notably the Archmage's robes. They have a long enchant description, however if the font stretched lengthwise across the whole description box, then it wouldn't be so small I don't think. All my searches on google about this come up with font issues, mostly involving small or non widescreen televisions. I bought this on the ps3, I have a 42 inch widescreen HDTV. I had the same issue. Now I'm playing it on the PC and it just started doing this, it's a bug of some sort I think, it wasn't like that before. Any known fixes for this?

I play on 1440X900 resolution, which is the native resolution for both of my monitors. I really don't think it's a resolution issue though, since everything else is perfectly fine, it's just items with long enchant descriptions.

@bwaresunlight, the default Skyrim inventory/favorites display might not be able to show your custom enchanted renamed items in the

normal default size font due to your somewhat narrow native resolution of 1440 pixels wide (x 900 high); but, i'm not sure about this.

(i use a laptop at 1920x1080 native with no issue).

Suggest you consider installing the ultra popular user interface mod called

SkyUI by SkyUI Team - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3863

(this mod requires Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) - http://skse.silverlock.org/ ).

With this mod you can fully customize fonts/icons and most importantly the size/configuration of each inventory/menu section by tweaking:

\Skyrim\Data\Interface\skyui.cfg

As far as i know there is a built-in limit on the number of characters you can use to rename an enchanted item,

did you get around this limitation somehow?

Actually I have SkyUI. I had it at the time of this post too, it didn't help. It's an issue with the game coding itself I think because I have it on the PS3 too with a 46 inch HDTV and I get the same exact issue.

@bwaresunlight, have you tried to customize SkyUI's appearance settings yet or did you just install it and

left SkyUI using its default settings? There is a video tutorial here:

With your lower resolution 1440 x 900 screen you'll probably need to discover a decent legible smaller font/icon solution.

Suggest you try a few alternate font/icon mods, i use Arial Normal and Centaur2 Normal fonts from this:

I actually had no idea it could be customized! I will try this, thank you! However if I can't customize the "printable area" for the font than it won't work. Again it's like someone grabbed the margins on microsoft word and squished them together, so the font shrinks to a super small size because it can't go past the horizontal margins either. I will attach a screenshot when I encounter this again, if the sky ui customization doesn't work.

@bwaresunlight, cool, i think customizing/experimenting with SkyUI's appearance is your best bet to get the

menus/fonts to look and fit right on your system monitors.

it won't exactly be easy lol, so don't get frustrated, we've all had to tweak SkyUI to get it the way we like it.

just keep trying different fonts/icons/margins and tweak the heck out of:

'\Skyrim\Data\Interface\skyui.cfg' and '\Skyrim\Data\Interface\fontconfig.txt' until you're happy.

a much better place for help would be to review the comments section of the mod itself:

SkyUI by SkyUI Team - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3863

there are 450 pages of comments there last time i looked.
