Couple Issues (already fixed)

One is rather minor and the other is.. well I'm not sure.

First, I noticed that vortex is firing off an auto-deploy when installing a variant mod during a reinstall. It wouldn't be a problem except that it's effectively re-deploying the original mod and the variant hasn't even been enabled yet. It's rather minor since it's just the hardlinks being being updated more than necessary. There was actually something else I noticed vortex was doing with variants but I can't remember now...

Second one was a bit strange and I don't know if it could be reproduced. The scenario is that I had a mod I tweaked/re-zipped that I wanted to reinstall in vortex. I had the brilliant idea (sarcasm) of just replacing the archive that already existed in the vortex download directory and reinstalling a variant of that mod. Yeah... I'm guessing vortex knew the file had changed due to hashing/filesize or something? At any rate I ended up with two mods named the same thing in the UI. When I right-clicked and opened the folder in explorer I could see that it had properly created the new mod folder with the variant name. It's just that the UI wasn't showing the variant as an option on the original mod. I figured it might just be a display glitch and restarted vortex. Didn't fix it. So I shrugged it off by deleting both mods and then installing a fresh instance from the updated archive.

This is where it got strange. After enabling the new mod I got a conflict warning which I expected, but when I clicked 'show' it appeared that vortex had forgotten most, if not all, of the conflict rules I had set up as it listed a lot of unrelated mods. At this point I lose track of what I tried honestly. Despite worrying that I had nuked those rules somehow I tried various things like restarting vortex, disabling and re-enabling different mods, and even installing a fresh mod. It wasn't until I added the mod install order as a visible column for the mod list that Vortex was suddenly happy and all the red lightning bolts turned green. Conflicts gone, no problems with further changes to my load order.

Lesson learned - just use the 'install from archive' button on the mod list ui next time.
