I install NV second time and search for my mods in NMM what I need to download. I install Vortex, download mods what i need, but nothing happen. I can't see any install files in NV directory, plugins are empty, but Vortex telling me everything is ok. Can someone help me? When i wanna choose my FNV directory program gave me error "The destination directory has to be empty"

PS. Looks like installing Vortex f*#@ed up my nexus mod manager too and a game, I needed to download NV again!

Hi,

When setting your mod staging directory, you're not supposed to be selecting the game folder. The purpose of the mod staging folder is a place to extract the files that are in the .rar files, or after going through the FOMod install process (or whatever it's called. The one where that allows you to choose an option if there are multiple options to choose from).

To set up the mod staging folder correctly, set it to the same drive as your game, but another folder. I have mine's set to D:\Modding\Tools\Vortex\{GAME}\mods, with downloads set to D:\Modding\Tools\Vortex\downloads. This way, mods that are downloaded by Vortex, and used by it, are in the same folder. You want to use {GAME} instead of replacing it with the game name, as that will automatically generate a new folder if you use the program for managing the mods of another game (as said in the information tip that opens up when you click on the i beside the Mod Staging Folder).

After you do that, assuming that you have enabled the mods you want to use, go to the "MODS" section and click on the "Deploy Mods" button. Doing so should create "hard links" in the game folder, meaning that you should now be seeing the .esps, textures... etc.

Also, you want to avoid using two mod managers unless if you know what you're doing, or how they both work, as switching between the two of them will cause problems, unless if, again, you know how they both work, and as such, what you're doing.

In addition, don't have both of them running at the same time as they will interfere with each other and will cause unnecessary headache.
