SeraVerte
After running boss, certain mods that I am always running are deactivated and other mods that I deactivated are reactivated again, why is that and how can I stop BOSS from doing it?
WHITELION1284
Personally I have never experienced BOSS turning mods on or off. In my experience it simply rearranges the load order, makes suggestions regarding the creation of bashed patches, states when you have to select only one .esp from a mod and comments on what mods are dependent on others as masters. On the other hand every single time I start the game with the default launcher and allow it to connect to STEAM mods are not not only rearranged into a load order that makes no sense they are also turned both on and off, seemingly at random. At the very least if there is a logic to it I don't know what it is. It becomes really frustrating when using wrye bash and bashed patches, which are sensitive to changes in load order. So, at the risk of coming across as dismissive (not my intention) I'd like to offer my solution in the hopes that it helps you. 1: In the STEAM library I right clicked on Skyrim. Scrolled down to properties and selected the tab dealing with local files and made sure that 'Do Not Auto-Update My Game' is selected. Now, for me, that only lasts until the next time I hit PLAY when STEAM has access to the internet. At which point it will default back to auto and ninja updating regardless of what I want. What this does do is allow you to connect to the internet with STEAM without fear of STEAM updating your game WITHOUT hitting play. So, to allow me to actually play the game the next thing I did was to: 2: firewall STEAM. I use Norton to deny STEAM access to the internet and play in offline mode. That prevents the "enumeration of subscribed files" nonsense and prevents STEAM from updating my game before I'm ready. Which is very important when, like me, you are using script extenders such as SKSE or script dragon. 3: If you're finding that STEAM is losing your login id and forcing you to connect to the internet there is a setting within the STEAM browser that says "Do Not save account details to this computer" or something like it. That needs to be turned off. Then you can click "remember me" when you login and tell STEAM to switch to offline mode. Which will allow you to happily play Skyrim without fear of the moronic multi-national gaming platform messing everything up without so much as asking you first. Once again, I hope this helps. If I've completely missed the mark and BOSS really is the culprit I have no suggestions because I'm simply at a loss. Either way good luck.
