There seemed to be alot of confusion the last time someone posted this simply for the shear lack of options. Well I've scoured the nexus for all the different body mods and here is what I found.

The purpose for the original poll is unclear, but I am posting this in order to help clearify or disolve a theory I have.

Theory:

Part 1: The majority of people use Robert Body as the Male Replacer.

Part 2: The majority of people use HGEC body replacer, BUT.... Use Exnem clothing due to compatibility and the lack of HGEC clothing.

Second place is Exnem due to the shear volume of options.

Third is Fantasy Figures. This is due to many switching over from Exnem before HGEC came out and the lack of desire to have to redo everything again.

What is the point of this information? Well if the entire community switches over to a single body replacer for both male and female like they did with Morrowind, we can all be on the same page and future mods will be more compatible with eachother. It will allow the community, just as it did with Morrowind to have a larger variety of clothing due to all modder working on the same clothing.

Could my theory be absolutly off? Absolutely.

So feel free to comment.

If I missed a Body, I appolojise. Please post it below.

The problem is that nobody will agree. Some people want semi-realistic proportions, some people want massive cartoony breasts. There were actually 2 body mods for morrowind, just one stopped getting supported because there weren't enough people making content for it. The case is totally different when it comes to Oblivion modding because there are more people who can make new meshes, and more information is available about the .nif format. If even within a body mod you have multiple versions for different busts, hips, and butt, you can't expect any single body mod to be good enough for anyone.

The only way that body mods could be made less complicated is if people settled on a single style of UV mapping for the body, so that only one set of textures would be used, and all clothing mods would technically be compatable with eachother since the skin portions would all be mapped the same. It is really the mapping which is making one body mod conflict so much with other body mods, if that could ever be sorted out, everyone would be a bit better off. The downside to this is that all existing mods would need to have their skin portions updated to match the new standard, and as several of those mod authors are no longer around, those mods won't ever get updated.

Great answer.

I like to play girls who I can identify with. When I was young I was super-skinny (like 95 pounds) and so I love the Eshme proportions, but the textures are sadly neglected. When I got older and filled out I put about 20 pounds and "filled out". Even when I was a little kid I had booty that "stuck out" and when I filled out I had other things sticking out too!! hahahaha

So I also love the Exnem bodies. In the last two years I put on 10 more pounds and looked more like Exnem Standard lower body (which I hate) and one of the busty top models which I'm not telling, but this summer I have just been dropping those ten pounds left and right, so I feel more like the Fighter body version- WooT!

Pretty complicated, right, and that's JUST ONE VIEWPOINT.

I looked at Growlf's last night, and his breast textures are super weird looking. On every model the areolas are completely strange, not look a real woman's breasts but very much like a weird cartoon. So I can't relate to that. Men may want a fantasy, but I believe most women want something to resembles ourselves, it ups the identification factor -- if we're playing women. I really have no interest in playing a male character, I've never wanted to be a man, personally. The thought is repugnant to me - but I'm strange that way. But I do have a boyfriend in the game. I took a mod-added character and edited his face to my perfect taste, and added Roberts Muscular Male, and my girl is pretty happy.

One thing I don't like about Exnem's bodies, is that every model seems to have a "tummy pooch" which I detest. Some of the clothes really make it stand out, personally I wouldn't leave my house in pants that make my belly look like that.

Now to only find (or create) a mod that let's you customize a romance with any character. I envision "Oblivion Dating and Romance Mod" with dialog romance and candles: how about "Dinner and a Dungeon" Hahahaha

I use HGEC and Roberts 4, I like choice and making one body style for all removes choice from your game. Do we then start laying ground rules for all mods to follow? Not for me, remove choice and you remove one of the things that makes me love the mods and body styles

1. Dam right, i use Roberts

2. Other, mainly because the mainsteam does not have neat A or B cup's and clothing replaces for it.

3. 1 body replacer? If the sife of everything would be variable for each race, i would follow it. And it does not contain D and E cups, its tiresome.

Well at least you guys are proving two parts of my theory correct. Everybody loves and uses Roberts men, and Most people use HGEC. As far as the breast size and stuff goes, I fully understand that. I myself use the original HGEC 1.1 standard, but I like people to have variety. Should I ever see a lot of HGEC Guts armor apear, I will change femal Ork NPCs to wear that armor. I have alread chosen two, and just two NPCs to have HCUP. One of those has a LL bottom, the other does not. I have two Acup Npcs' and 1 Ccup. To like variety I fully understand.

But never the less, reguardless of what breast or bottom sizes you like or prefer, HG Eye candy does seem to have you covered and does seem to be most used, so far. I just hope more poeple vote.

I personally use HGEC and Robert's Male Body.

...most people use HGEC

This is actually not the least bit true, as the "people" that matter (as far as this conversation is concerned) are the modders that mod the various bodies. While HGEC/Exnem has many talented modders, included a large percentage of Asian modders, some of the other bodies, most notably Fantasy Figures, have many fantastic modders as well.
