mcjimmy4
:wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: O k I'm pretty new to modding and i am going for the big shot. A long mod with quests and probably new weapons and stuff... I am going to release a beta version of my mod Persian invasion. there are going to be 1000+ new NPCs and none of them will look the same... i have put in 5 near a boat thats landed at the water front and when you arrive there - their AI is dead for about 30 seconds and then they start casting spells i didn't put in the spell list and they start killing each other  they aren't in a faction because i don't know how to put them in a faction :( I need to know how to put them in a faction so they wont kill each other... also any suggestions on how to fix the random spell casting (i might try putting there magika to 0) and the dead AI i have put defensive combat and wander (not sure if i did it right :S). i have made another mod where NPCs have attacked you on sight and they didnt kill each other :( (they weren't in a faction either) :(:(:( PLEASE HELP
Pencillol
I use scripts to put people in a faction so it'd be: scn (whatever) begin gamemode setfactionrank (faction name) end not sure if it's the best way but it should do for playtesting etc.
hyper574
Go to the CS, double click on the npc in the editor and go to the factions tab in the pop up menu. You can then just go to the character tab in the editor menu, go down to factions and drag and drop one in. To create a new faction, duplicate an existing one and then just set it up. On a side note, it may be best if you don't make something like this when your just starting out. Something like what your thinking of would take a lot more work then one person could manage. Also since your new it's probably better to work on other smaller-scale mods that'll help you get used to the construction set and teach you how to make quests, create new areas, etc. that you'll need for something like what your planning.
