Vykun
Alright, so from Skyrim launch until now I have played it a ton and installed probably hundreds of mods. Right now, what I am trying to do is get a clean install of the game, but it does not seem to be working out that way. It would appear that the game is still keeping some old mod data, or something of the like. Because when I launch Skyrim I get no more than 20-30 FPS total, even after clearing it off my HDD and installing it again multiple times. I used to have a ton of HD textures and graphics overhauls installed but there are new ones now and I would like to try some of them. And I want a fresh install to get ready to play the new DLC. What I have done is: Toggled Cloud Sync offDeleted local content through SteamMade sure all mods in NMM were removedWent to where Skyrim was installed and deleted the folder left overWent into Documents and deleted the Skyrim folder containing the .ini files and suchI also checked all my other HDDs where I had different Skyrim installs at one point, and deleted all of them as wellNew game, so that there is no conflict of old mods on my old saves and suchEmptied recycle bin, just to be sure After doing all of this, and then doing a fresh install of Skyrim the game still opens up with only 20-30 FPS, even during the initial opening scene. I am also noticing that there are texture issues in some places, like in town the streets appear and disappear into thin lines. All of this leads me to believe that somewhere, Skyrim is pulling data from an old texture mod I was using that is outdated/missing partial files from deleting stuff. Anyone able to help me out with clearing this up? By the way, my PC can run this on max settings and get upwards of 80+ FPS normally with no mods installed. And even with all the mods I used to have I was still pulling 40-50 with them all turned on. So this is not a case of me being an idiot, or at least I hope it isn't, lol. Araucano
Hello Vykum, It seems like you have done everything you're suppose to do. Have you installed the latest catalyst files 12.6 final, not beta? Did you remove the mods from not just Nexus but also from the Skyrim Workshop?
Vykun
Hello Vykum, It seems like you have done everything you're suppose to do. Have you installed the latest catalyst files 12.6 final, not beta? Did you remove the mods from not just Nexus but also from the Skyrim Workshop? I only download mods from the Nexus, specifically to prevent things like this happening, lol. Too hard to keep track of stuff when I am pulling it from multiple places. Anyway, I have managed to sort of increase my Skyrim FPS. Not near where they should be, but I am getting around 50 or so now, which is good enough I guess. Won't be able to go nuts with mods like I was before but I can deal. Only need something to pass time til Guild Wars 2 comes out anyway. Thanks for the help anyway though =)
