tetradite
On a mod I'm working on I'm using the Azuras Hex Crystal statics and swapping the textures to vanilla texture sets (in this case swapping to a rocky texture). Doing this generates warnings about a missing environment map. The result in CK and in game is actually exactly what I want it to be - The rocky texture applies, and the object still has some element of the cyan-ish glow of the vanilla Hex Crystals. This is exactly what I want it to look like. So my question is, since the result IS what I wanted, and it works in game, do I need to be concerned about the editor warnings? I'm guessing that the warning is because the texture swap is incomplete (since the cyan effect still partially remains) so it's warning me about that, even though in this case it's actually desireable and not a problem. Or will there be any other issues arising from this? Would be extremely grateful if anyone could confirm.
Ghogiel
What is probably happening is that the shader is setup to use an environment map but one is now not any longer plugged into the map slot for it. the only way to avoid that error is change the shader set up in the nif or add an environment map to the right slot to shut it up. It shouldn't cause any issue because the engine probably fills in the blank with something like it did in F3. that blnk no env map but with the shader enabled looks ugly in that game imo but have yet to do it wrong in skyrim so I don't know what it looks like in that game, non the less if you have achieved the visual effect you want then not to worry as it will not cause any brokeness. The cyan color is the specular color tint in the shader addition to the emissive set on the translucent part and is unrelated to the environment map. tetradite
Thanks Ghogiel, "if it looks right it's ok" is just what I wanted to hearhttp://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/biggrin.gif In this case I want it to look somewhat weird and unusual, so the ugliness actually may be helping http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/thumbsup.gif
