bryman1970
I'm playing a somewhat evil female Raven Elf and using some vampire mods ( I intend on becoming a vampire at some point when i've reached a higher level). I'd like to find a neutral/evil companion. It doesn't even have to be an NPC. It could be a wolf, bear, spider, or some other less-than-pleasant creature. I was actually leaning more towards a creature companion rather than an NPC. I know of the Dremora Companion mod (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/6977/) but it didn't really seem like what I was looking for. I know of a Spider Daedra companion mod but it didn't seem fair if I just all of a sudden aquired a semi-powerful companion while still at such a low level. I was checking out the CM Partners Mod Basic (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/7819/) but i've read some things about that mod and it didn't seem like the most stable companion mod out there, although I could be very wrong. I know that issues differ with each individual player and each individual combination of mods. I also noticed the Undergournd Saga mod with Viconia (I think that's her name), but I noticed a quest claiming something about saving Tamriel from Lolth. I wasn't thinking my character would be interested in saving Tamriel from anything and would basically be concerned about her own well being even if it meant sacrificing others so that mod might not be what I need either. Anyone have any advice? Edit: I know this has nothing to do with the original topic of my topic, but I was wondering if there were any good magic effect replacers out there (not sounds but graphics). I'd like to see if I can improve the vanilla ones if possible. Edited July 7, 2012 by bryman1970
scarycave
I could make you one, I'm working on a new script to make a follower more efficient. Just let me know if your interested and I'll whip it up for you. I can make it as long as it's a creature. If your doing a vampire, a wolf seems to be the pet of choice for vampires (Timber Wolf). If you have shivering Isles a Hunger would be a fitting Vamp Companion, it's a daedra (daedra =/= evil?), that feeds off living things. Any creature/Daedra creature will do though. bryman1970
Sure. If you want to make me an evil dog/wolf-like companion, i'd definitely test it out. It wouldn't have to have any complicated commands, just stay, follow, attack, maybe meet at a house or spot of choice, etc. Let me know when it's done. I'll keep an eye out. Thanks. scarycave
Sorry about the delayed response, I was away from home for the past three days. It's pretty much finished, it just needs a few more finishing touches.
bryman1970
No problem. I figured you'd reply sooner or later. Glad to hear it's almost finished. Can you tell me what kind of companion it is, or are you holding back any info until you release it? My evil Raven Elf is at level 9 now so i'm thinking she's leveled up enough to gain a companion. scarycave
I was thinking a wolf. It's pretty much finished. :)I just need to find a good-place to put it. I was thinking Skingard, since it seems like an evil town.
bryman1970
How is the player going to find the wolf? What about somewhere in the wild? Bravil? Maybe The Blackwood? Maybe it could have been almost killed by other animals or hunters? Is it going to be an "evil" wolf? Sorry for all the questions. Just curious. Edited July 15, 2012 by bryman1970
scarycave
It's okay. :) Since you said you wanted a neutral-evil follower and that you were going to be a vampire at some point I was going to add a requirement of being a vampire. His owner got infected by a vampire, ran away, Wolf went to follow him, and is still looking for him. You come along and if you've been infected, he'll smell the vampire blood on you, and think your the owner. You only need to be a vampire to recruit him, after that you can get cured and dismiss and hire him. If I go the neutral route I could probably get him locked up in one of those "Goblin Rat Farm" things, and you just save him from that. If I go the evil route I could just make him not follow you if your fame is higher than your infamy. I've made a follower that won't join you if your infamy's higher than your fame. bryman1970
I've been infected twice but i've been very hesitant in letting it go too long. It seems being a vampire in Cyrodiil changes the whole aspect of the game and makes it much more challenging in many ways. I'd like to be pretty powerful before I take that leap. I like the idea of Wolf smelling the disease on me. Keeping Infamy consistently above Fame can be tricky, especialy for people like me. Sometimes I feel like I should save a town or rescue a helpless farmer etc., but on the other hand, I wouldn't think twice about breaking into someone's house and stealing their life savings. Either way, i'd be satisfied if I didn't necessarily NEED to be a vampire to aquire the wolf at the moment. Then I could have a companion sooner than later.
scarycave
Yeah, I know what you mean. First time I got infected I went outside, wanted to get into a closed store, and waited outside till sunrise. I'll find a place for him somewhere, maybe having him locked in a cage, that you need a certain Security Level to open. Edit// Okay, he's going to be in the Sewers under the Talos District in a cage. You can pick a hard lock, which will advance you a security level, or kill a certain bandit which will advance your blade skill. It advances when you open the cage, if you have the key - it assumes you murdered him, if not you must have picked the lock. Activating the wolf will recruit him after a message-box. I've also been working on a different follower, which is pretty much finished. I'm planning on making more in the mod, but I'll release it after the Wolf Follower is finished so you can get him. Thanks for being so patient. :) Edited July 17, 2012 by scarycave
