Infinite Loading Screen on start for no discernible reason -- worked last time and I changed nothing!

Do you use a bashed patch or a mator patch that might need updating after removing Agony?

The least painful way to find the conflicting culprit is by starting from the bottom. In Wrye Bash, untick your mods from the bottom. I usually do this in packets of around 20 (and all the depended mods are unticked by Wrye Bash automatically anyway). That way you dont have to uninstall anything and your mod order shouldn't be affected.

I use NMM and to untick a mod is to uninstall. Unfortunately I don't think there's a way for me to find the culprit without process of elimination and having to redo my load order afterward.

Again though, there shouldn't BE a culprit, because I reinstalled Agony and put its .esp right back in the same spot in the load order and it had the same problem. It's like the game is just randomly giving me s*** just to troll me.

THIS - accent, mine.

This is almost exactly what happened to me with F4SE - other mods were dumping necessary files into a folder F4SE needed, and when I reinstalled it, that folder was empty. I've managed to get my game running very stable, but I still can't get two of my mods working properly, so I think something similar happened there, except they don't use F4SE so something must be missing from something else (real vague - I know).

I got lucky and was able to butch-patch that folder and get my game running smoothly again, and I think the same thing is happening to you - your reinstall of Agony (don't even know what that one is LOL) is missing something the original had. Some co-dependent file. In my case I was able to check the F4SE logs to see what was going on, but if that mod isn't your problem, then that isn't really an option for you. Unfortunately, the only advice I can possibly give to you is pretty much the same as everyone else - reinstall everything from scratch, and hopefully whatever missing files you have will find their way to the right folders this time.
