No sound + close to desktop = game freeze?

I will be playing Skyrim normally, and usually it plays well, but sometimes voices and sounds stop playing. The music keeps playing, however. When this happens, it can be solved by closing the game, getting back on and loading a save. But, the problem is that whenever this happens, the game freezes when I try closing it.

I can go to the menu and close it from there, or I can close it in the game, it doesn't make a difference. I would have to find a way to close it with the task manager manually with a full-screen game taking up one of my two screens.

This is inconvenient. Another few things I noticed, once during this odd soundless glitch, I talked to someone, and though it kept giving me dialogue choices, the subtitle, serving as my only indicator of what they were saying, did not change. Also, the frame-rate would become terrible, and change often.

This may be unrelated, but sometimes some the trees would have black squares all over them before it happened.

I honestly don't know what is going on, or how they are related, but they all happen at once, every time.

I have a 32 bit OS with a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.01 GHz, and 3.00 GB of ram working with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 560

I only have OpticShooter's 'Lush Grass,' 'Personalized Music.' and Vurt's 'Skyrim Flora Overhaul' mods activated, and I would hope they weren't the cause. I *think* I've had this problem before I had these mods.
