Your monitor size may not allow for anything bigger than 1024x768.

Or can you hit resolutions higher than that? Just not 1280x1024?

my monitor supports that resolution just fine, on a previous install of windows. It seems to be a bug some where, i was wondering if there was a work around.

I have 2 LG 19inch widescreen monitors and in games it doesn't show up either.

Thats odd....

If you could post your Video card and OS that would be great. Perhaps its a known problem and there is a fix somewhere.

1280x1024 is not a widescreen resolution, try setting it to 1280x800 or 1440x900. If you just need or want that large height setting, try 1680x1050 or 1920x1200. Also, I recently discovered that your available resolutions are dependent on the type of connection you're using (VGA, DVI, or an adapter). DVI gives the most (and highest) choices.

ya its odd i also have a dvi to hdmi adapter for my 32inch toshiba lcd, using it for games is sweet. Anyway could that be a reason to.

1280x1024 is 1080p in high definition tv's is its native resolution. Thats the resolution i use in games also, my monitor auto adjusts to whatever resolution its at, in widescreen modes give that crunched up look.

Are you trying to set the resolution on the tv or the pc monitors? It makes a big difference. I use a 32" also so I can tell you that the resolution there will not go nearly as high as your pc monitors, and if you are using an adapter to make the connection then that will further limit your options as well as hamper your quality. Another thing you may be doing wrong is that you can not connect three screens to that video card directly and run them all. There's a special hub you're supposed to use to avoid damaging your equipment if you use more than two.

If you are setting the resolution while the tv is an active display, your card may only be showing you the options that the tv can support, which is very limited and may be why some choices seems to be missing.

my adapter is working fine, it transform a dvi signal to a hdmi single, on a previous install there was nothing wrong with using a dvi adapter. One of my friends who also is my tech support, free tech support  he also use's it to and he has no problem. Also using some high quality hdmi cable as well (female to male) no quality loss.

what was i thinking previous post lol, i could try reinstalling the drivers again who knows, im stumped.

Thor., allow me to preface with:

I'm not currently running Oblivion on PC, but I have encountered problems getting 19W resolutions to work with certain games. Turns out it was the generic windows driver for the monitor itself. I've got a 19W at home and one at work. Work was easy, just DL'd the correct driver from Acer.

The home monitor, I actually ended up rewriting an older driver to include the resolutions for a 19W and it works flawlessly now.

Good luck.
