Calcemo
So I'm on a project to make my own house in the Creation kit.I start of with duplicating a cell, erasing everything within that cell and make a shack. I make sure everything is 100% connected and fine. I enter the game and I can enter my house, it's already linked to the world. Everything looks fine. Then I start inserting furniture in my house. After I'm done I save and want to enter my house. The thing is that there is no house! So I do the COC command and when I enter I see only furniture no walls, floor or ceiling. What's wrong? flobalob
If you duplicated a cell the only way it can be conected to the rest of the world is if you actively connected it. Otherwise you erased/overwrote an existing cell. Edited July 8, 2012 by flobalob
Calcemo
I duplicated a cell, to be exactly I duplicated the abandoned shack cell, renamed my copy and removed all furniture etc so I got the shell of the house. So if I want to make a house I will have to make a new cell? If you duplicated a cell the only way it can be conected to the rest of the world is if you actively connected it. Otherwise you erased/overwrote an existing cell.
flobalob
When you duplicate a cell you HAVE made a new cell (make sure you mess about with the duplicate not the original, I've done that before by mistake). The point I was trying to make was that when you duplicate a cell everything is duplicated (including Navmesh). Everything EXCEPT links to other cells. The original cell will have yellow teleport markers near the loaddoors (see pic, press "M" to toggle markers on/off), the duplicate will not. Therefore it is not possible to enter/leave your new cell untill you have manually linked it to the rest of the game. For details of how to connect your new cell to the world read this tutorial. Calcemo
Ive done that, I'm certain I messed with my duplicated cell and not the original one. Then I removed the old markers and made new loaddoors that was linked to another house in another place. I added a house in riverwood made a loaddoor and then went to the interior of my duplicated house and made a loaddoor and then linked them. Everything went fine until I started to add furniture in my house then the house disappeared and only the furniture was left in my cell. The house in riverwood & the loaddoor was gone so I had to go to console and type COC playerhouse to get there when I got there the only stuff that was left was the furniture, my walls, my floor and roof and the loaddoor was gone. Edit: Made a new house in a brand new cell that I made myself everything worked fine until I added furniture in my house then it erased the base of the house again and some furniture. flobalob
I think I know what you have done. You created a cell (by duplicating it) and saved in the CK & it asked you to provide a filename for your mod.You Quit the CK and tested your stuff. You loaded the CK again and loaded your mod, when you saved it the CK asked you to provide a filename AGAIN. If this is the case then you forgot to set your mod as the active file (We've all done it BTW).when you load an existing mod you HAVE to use the "Set as active file" button before pressing OK, otherwise you are creating another NEW mod.
