Ok so heres the problem. Every time i play, at different intervals i either get a CTD or the game just freezes (CTDS usually are from int/ext or fast travelling and the freezes usually occur ANYWHERE outside, at any time)

 

I have tried disabling all the mods except FCOM ones and tried with graphics settings minimal and maximum, obviously gives a difference in FPS but the crashes just seem to be more delayed with less mods. But they do still occur.

 

I also have texture packs on aswell like Qarls, TNR, Sun, etc.

 

My oblivion ini is tweaked but not too much only a few performance tweaks.

 

System: Running vista 64it, 4g ram, Nvidiad GTX280, AMD Phenom 9500 2.4ghz. Processor is abit laggy i know but FPS doesnt affect the crashes.

 

 

Also have SI installed and Operation Optmization, Wrye BASH OBMM etc.. 1.2 patch.

 

I cant remember the crashes occuring on the vanilla oblivion, but the FCOM load order seems fine so i cant see why it would crash so frequently with just FCOM?

 

ANY help would be greatly appreciated the mod list i have here is a masterpiece all works perfectly together cept the constant CTDs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The mod maximum limit is 255, but that includes [i think two] parts of the game install that count as mods. So if you went and installed 255 downloaded mods into the game, then you are actually over the limit. Shivering Isles, Knights, and the official plug-ins also count against the limit. This could account for at least some of your CTD issues.

I seem to have fixed it. Think i was a bit unclear i actually had 255 at once, and had others that werent active but still in the list, also i have none of the DLC active except SI. Anyway i downloaded FCOM helper and it rearranged a few of the FCOM files and also a lot of my oringial mods, so i onyl left on the original mods the FCOM Helper recognized and approved, and now i only get CTDs exiting the game, which i can live with. I havent had a freeze yet either. FCOM helper seems to be the key so far and not having anyhting even slightly conflicting with it. Thanks anyway

Just a comment about CTDs, I discovered that about 80% of my CTDs had nothing to do with my mods but actually had to do with my graphics card hardware settings (Nividia GeForce 8800 GTX). What I did is I set all the hardware settings to "Default" and then I changed every single one that had a "best performance" comment associated with it to the better performance setting. Almost all my CTDs wen't away, before I did this my game would crash every 5-15min, now it will run for 1.5-2hours before a CTD.
