Meta1axe
UPDATE 3: Found a fix for my New Vegas problem so I'm gonna leave it up here for anyone else experiancing similar: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34778I hope that helps you. I haven't tried it on Fallout 3 yet. ..................... UPDATE 2: Birthday present of Fallout 3 from brother in Steam sale. Never touched this PC before. Exact same problem of it crashing during the load.Oblivion and Skyrim still work. So it's a Fallout issue. Please any ideas? .................... UPDATE: I brought the DLC I wanted in the Steam sale anyway and installed that in a vauge hope it'd fix the problem. It was to no avail. :(That said I'm now more keen than ever to get this problem fixed. ................... Usually I don't post on fourms, but after multiple attempts to fix this it would be nice to see someone else's opinion. My New Vegas copy was a gift from my brother on Steam and (as far as I could tell from the 12 hours played of it) it ran fine even with mods (abeit laggy from some of the more powerful mods due to not possesing the amount of ram I'm used to for a temporary basis, but that was all.) My game used to work fine with a NVIDIA Geforce 9600 GT graphics card.Nothing else has changed except I now have an ASUS GTX 560 graphics card. After browsing I noticed some other people had problems with that card but their solutions didn't fix my problem. So that in mind here is what I have in my PC: Windows 7 (64bit)Intel Core i5 2500K @3.30GHz (Quad core)4GB RAMASUSTek Computer INC. P8Z68-V LE (LGA1155)1279MB GeForce GTX 57059GB SSD (runs windows only)2.5TB in Hardrives. My internet is slow so I just took 3 days to cleanly install New Vegas (download) to make sure there were no mods involved. Before then I updated my graphics drivers to their newest and that worked for a day but then it collapsed on me again. The game works fine until it gets to the end of loading a saved game (or a new one - I no longer have any saved games) Then it crashes to desktop with this fairly default message: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: FalloutNV.exe Application Version: 1.4.0.525 Application Timestamp: 4e0d50ed Fault Module Name: FalloutNV.exe Fault Module Version: 1.4.0.525 Fault Module Timestamp: 4e0d50ed Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00757aa9 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Please help. I'm aware there's a problem it has with quad cores but that's never bothered me in the past, and I tried that fix with the .ini file before I reinstalled it. Did squat. I have none of the DLC - I was hoping to buy some in the steam summer sale, but If my game don't work.... Edited July 20, 2012 by Meta1axe
luthienanarion
Have you run FalloutLauncher.exe and selected Options since changing video cards? If not, do so in order for it to re-run the hardware detection. Edited July 9, 2012 by luthienanarion
Meta1axe
Have you run FalloutLauncher.exe and selected Options since changing video cards? If not, do so in order for it to re-run the hardware detection. It did that automatically and detected my card fine when it was reisntalled - I think when the card was put in too. I just did it again to double check.Sadly, it didn't change anything.
