lol i could probably see these pictures as possible welcome additions/things to base ideas off and if not then oh well

It has no moving parts. Yet, it can fire standard, small-caliber projectiles from multiple barrels at speeds up to one million rounds per minute. Is it still a gun?

Its creators call it Metal Storm. No moving parts mean no jams in the traditional sense and a quiet operating mechanism. The high rate of fire is not just a function of the number of barrels. The cartridges are initiated with an electronic impulse. Building on earlier technology, successfully demonstrated over the past three years, Metal Storm continues to try to drag small arms technology-some might suggest kicking and screaming-into the computer age. Inventor Michael O'Dwyer said his Australian-based company, also named Metal Storm, has found additional applications and new ways to incorporate other technologies with its own.

 

The Australian company is partnered with the U.S.-based SAIC in a DARPA-led contract to develop a new, lightweight advanced sniper rifle, based on Metal Storm technology. Rather than depending on larger calibers-such as .50 caliber or 20 mm-the Metal Storm advanced sniper rifle would use .45 caliber ammunition, with thousands of rounds fired at a high rate of fire.

 

Some of the advantages of the sniper application noted by its developers include a rapid reload, since the rounds come in a pre-loaded barrel. This same technology allows the shooter to quickly change calibers or ammunition type. It also offers the user the option to make a quick shift to less-than-lethal, as a scenario evolves. Because Metal Storm can be programmed to fire multiple rounds with a single trigger pull at an extremely high rate of fire, it is conceivable that a sniper could deliver multiple rounds, a double or triple tap, at long range, with no recoil between rounds.

It would be more of a turret, mate. It would take some additional programming, as they don't have programming in the vanilla game for erecting new turrets. (You and me, Hoss)

 

And that pistol comes straight out of HALO, which is a scenario I wanted to avoid.

that pistol isnt halo and i would know this as ive played all of em except the Halo 4 game coming out soon i think its from either a movie or anime called appleseed as its based in the future with people cyborgs and robots etc here are a few other gun models from it

the handgun above is a resin replica of a gun used in the appleseed manga anime and movies from what i can gather from the AS wikia

Another future firearm idea would be hyper velocity propellent for missiles, rockets, and solid slug shotguns (more like nitrus express loads from the 1800s), though they would have to use reinforced materials or they would rapidly degrade your weapon..

 

wrist mounted rocket launcher (ala boba fett) using the rocket ammo from lonesome road

 

Glaser Slugs (plastic filled with teflon coated pellets) real life for good armour penetration followed by heavy internal damage (real life used by air marshals, designed to penetrate body armour, but dump all energy into the first sogt target. Wouldn't penetrate heavy body armour or aircraft bodyframes).

 

a nice .50 desert eagle

a .22 machine pistol with double drum magazine holding over 200 rounds

caseless rounds

G-11 inspired caseless assult rifle

some nice concealable weapons

some sort of smart material ammo that unfolds after penetrating armour) ok, bery sci fi but very, very rare and next to impossible to build outside of certain specialized places.

im loving the ammo ideas,

also the .22 machine pistol would be easy to model >.>

arggleshammer if my comp didnt implode this morning i would have had that done in a few hours D:

 

also i like speedy's turret idea, and considering their is a placeable turret mod making an addon would be easy.

although combining that and the g11 idea would make and interesting pepperbox rifle. Instead of mags it would have a a box of tubes you slam in the top. could have it to when you crit the gun in vats or the condition falls below 0 the propellent in the box explodes.

 

a lot of the ammo types your talking about could easily be done, just need some custom projectiles and world objects.

then some geck majickery.

 

im going to see if my backup drive stil works, if it does ill have some of these done by tomorrow.

 

also some one figure out a name for the .22 machine pistol. i can already tell it'll have low dam but a ridiculous dps.
