MightyZ0G
the things that make it easy easy for me to spend hours wandering Skyrim, just enjoying the scenery are Realistic Lighting With Customisation, Real Wildlife - Skyrim, Skyrim Flora Overhaul and removing the HUD, compass and undiscovered locations from the map, plus a few ini tweaks.I do use fast travel occasionally but not very often as I enjoy walking around Skyrim and even without the above mentioned mods, Skyrim is a beautiful place to explore. here is my album of screenshots if you are interested I've completed the CW quest on both sides and I've finished the main quest once. I have also deleted all my saves and restarted several times before finishing either of those as mods conflicted and it was easier to restart with the selection of mods I wanted rather than trying to find workarounds for game breaking conflicts. CarlCorey
I'm in the 600-700 hour range and haven't done the MQ or the Civil War quest yet either ... for all the same reasons people have been citing. My current character is at about 300 hours and this time I haven't started "In My Time of Need" yet. It's fun still be encountering those Alik'r accosting random Redguard women all over the place. eev2000
Yeah, from my last post I just finished the MQ on my third character, and then after that I finished the whole civil war questline. I actually hate the scenery. Also I hate the weather system. Is there ever a summer in Skyrim? On a Fallout 4 what it should be like thing, the guy said make it look like skyrim with pretty skies and cool landscapes...he obviously doesn't know what Fallout is, it's supposed to be dark and bleak and destroyed. If you want a game that you look at it's landscape instead of actually playing it, play a sim.
MightyZ0G
this playthrough I still need to take the Horn back to the Greybeards.
3WINTERS
I assume the same role as many on this thread, I like exploring area's on a whim and living in the land instead of conquering it. However, I've not played it so much, less than 150 hours and not by choice. I've had to reinstall the game and start over three times already and I'm heading for the fourth after I send my dysfunctional 6 month old pc to the place from whence it came to try and find out what plagues my pc's display functionality. stimresp
When I played it first back in November I rushed through the main quest, finding it fun but ultimately unrewarding. After a long break I recently came back to try out some mods. The Alternate Start mod has been a revelation. It allows you to start from a variety f locations/scenarios. It doesn't force you to do the main quest, though it is still available when you want it. I started out Camping in the woods and I've been happy-out for 30 hours-or-so just exploring, hunting, cooking, selling, etc. Taking it easy and enjoying it immensely. Sonickon
Played 170 hours, havent achieved anything. I love it! In love with all the mods, probably spent about 100 hours with mods as well. It's like an addiction, but a good one!
ClonePatrol
My Steam account says I've played 260 hours, but I have a habit of going to my player house (or some other 'safe' place) and leaving the game running when I don't need to be using my comp so that time will pass and my spouse will end up with money from their business and shops will replenish their inventory so I can sell off some of my PCs ridiculous collection of stuff (I collect most anything of value and store it somewhere until I can sell it, stores rarely have the coin to buy much though). I'm not sure why, but using alt+tab to leave the game running but do other stuff seems to stop the in-game clock. I've probably only played about half the listed time. I have about a half dozen characters, with most of my play time on the same two (a male Dunmer and a female Breton, both stealthy crafting specialists who make custom gear and potions to increase their power) and a sparse amount of time on the others (only taken as far as Whiterun, maybe a few extra quests). I suppose my Breton is my main character, with it taking up about 65% of my play time, so around 84.5 hours is the most I've played on a single character. My play style can be very time consuming, as I need to collect a lot of crafting components, thankfully the Ultimate Follower Overhaul mod lets me tow around more than one follower so I can have them carry stuff for me. It'll probably take at least a few hundred hours to complete the path through the quest-lines I've charted for my main character (Thieves Guild leads me to Windhelm, which leads me to the the Dark Brotherhood, which leads me to Solitude and the Bard's College, etc). Snowsong
Omigosh, the main quest was so fun I did it twice. You totally should do the main quest! You get to trap and then ride a dragon, and you get sent to the afterlife where you meet all these dead heroes, and when you finish it all you get these really, really neat powers you don't get any other way. Edited July 18, 2012 by Snowsong
