venarez
Hello All I'm hoping someone can help me out here this problem is driving me nuts and I can't see where i'm going wrong with it I've created a helmet (covers all but the eyes and neck) in blender (2.49b with the relevant python scrits and the nif script) and following the nexus wiki of creating an armour in skyrim I copied the vertex weights from an existing helmet and exported the nif with the other helmet's skeleton as the parent of my mesh, i then imported into nifskope, added the bslightingshaderproperties made adjustments to that and added the bsshadertextureset and updated that, got rid of the gubbins blender exports along with the mesh so my nif now has only what it needs to go into creation kit (using the previous helmet i copied the weights from as reference). the problem arises when i actually import it into skyrim, depending on which body part i select for it (hair, or hair & head or just head) the helmet is either invisible and my character is bald (not a good look) or their entire head disappears! I've tried changing the body part partition in the dismember set from hair (131/31) to head (30) but no avail, i think the weights from the original mesh i copied aren't quite right though. When i first load up the mesh it has bp_torso selected in nifskope and looking at the copied vertex weights i see there are vertex groups for torso and npc head. Both say zero but the weight paint mode tells a different story (I'm completely new to this weights business so I might not be looking in the right place?) hopefully i've included enough information (to bore people half to death before finishing it.....) help would be greatly appreciated, this is almost arm chewingly irritating! :wallbash:
