Excoter
My setup: Windows 10 64-bitNvidia Geforce GTX 960 with driver: 417.35Fallout 4 via Steam Situation: I play heavily modded Fallout 4 with F4SE with everything up to date, and everything worked totally fine until latest Windows update. Now when I start game it loads ok but goes to black screen when game itself should open. Game actually is running "behind" the black screen, I can hear sounds for example. Actions so far: I have tried to wipe all Nvidia drivers out and do clean install with latest driver... No luck. I have tried all the tricks with pref.ini file, tried to start without ini files with basic settings etc etc.. No luck. I have tried to start game in every full screen or windowed mode options available.. No luck. I did not touch anything within my mod setup, NMM nor INI files before this started. I believe it's Nvidia related issue, but I really need help to start hunting for the cause of black screen. Thank you
Rampdog
I've had problems since the last Windows 10 update also. But mine is the game crashes within 30 seconds of starting. I rolled back to the previous update, but the problem remains.
Excoter
Nvidia's tech support is useless at the moment, can't get any help from there. Reading their forums, something really went wrong with latest driver update.
MarkusTay
Try checking the 'permissions' on all your game folders, including Steam. The last time Windows updated on my comp. it reset them all to 'write only'. You may have to 'take ownership' of the folder, which is a whole 'nother ball of wax - you can get info on how to do that on a bunch of Windows sites.
